| Pro-choice | a) Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation? | ||
| Yes | b) Do you support legalizing abortion when the pregnancy resulted from incest or rape? | ||
| No | c) Do you support the prohibition of public funds for organizations that perform abortions? | ||
| The legislature has no business in a woman's healthcare and life decisions. Social justice requires assistence to those less fortunate who can not pay for an abortion on their own. | |||
| No | a) In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing state employee salaries AND/OR pensions? | ||
| No | b) Do you support raising taxes on any income or on any entity, to promote economic growth? | ||
| c) Other or expanded principles: | |||
| No | a) Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes? | ||
| No | b) Should an individual under 18 accused of a violent crime be prosecuted as an adult? | ||
| No | c) Do you support the enforcement of federal immigration laws by state and local police? | ||
| No | d) Do you support the use of private prisons? | ||
| No | e) Do you support mandatory minimum sentences for non-violent drug offenders? | ||
| Social Justice requires each criminal case to be decided on it's own merits taking into account the background of the convicted. Only then can a proper sentence be attached to the crime. The imprisonment should allow the individual the counseling required to make him or her a contributing citizen upon their release. Prisoners should also not be treated as slaves, but as our brothers. They should be paid at least minimum wage for any jobs they perform for private enterprise. | |||
| Yes | a) Do you support state government spending as a means of promoting economic growth? | ||
| No | b) Do you support reducing government regulations on the private sector? | ||
| Yes | c) Do you support an increase of the minimum wage of Arizona? | ||
| Yes | d) Do you support providing financial relief to businesses AND/OR corporations negatively impacted by the state of national emergency for COVID-19? | ||
| Covid relief should be available to all businesses including small business and proprietors. | |||
| No | a) Do you support adopting federal education standards in Arizona? | ||
| No | b) Do you support state funding for charter schools? | ||
| Yes | c) Do you support increasing teacher salaries AND/OR benefits in Arizona? | ||
| Yes | d) Should immigrants unlawfully present in the United States who graduate from Arizona high schools be eligible for in-state tuition at public universities? | ||
| I would support a federal minimum education standard so no state abandon's their public schools responsibilities. | |||
| No | a) Do you support state funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, geo-thermal)? | ||
| Yes | b) Do you support government regulations of greenhouse gas emissions? | ||
| Yes | c) Do you support increasing state funding for clean drinking water initiatives? | ||
| Yes | d) Do you support investing in water conservation to address Arizona's water deficiency? | ||
| We live in the sunniest state and should lead the nation in solar energy development. We also have many other opportunities for wind. The world came together on banning florocarbons in our atmosphere. We must also incentivise the elimination of greenhouse gases. Water conservation is a must in this state with such a limited water supply. This is one of the most important issues for the legislature. I would fully support the state subsidizing best conservation practices. | |||
| Yes | a) Do you support the regulation of campaign contributions from corporations, unions, and individuals? | ||
| Yes | b) Do you support the use of an independent AND/OR bipartisan commission for redistricting? | ||
| Yes | c) Do you support requiring a government-issued photo identification in order to vote at the polls? | ||
| Yes | d) Do you support automatic voter registration? | ||
| No | e) Do you support strengthening voter identification laws in Arizona? | ||
| There is no massive fraud in Arizona voting. Our Secretary of State and county recorders are following the law in processing the vote of our citizens and doing a fine job. It's the losers who can't admit to it. For example, all Republicans running for statewide office are 2020 election deniers, yet when they won their 2022 primaries, there was no fraud. Is it because they won the primaries? We'll hear from them when they ALL lose in the November general election. Count on it. | |||
| Yes | a) Do you generally support gun-control legislation? | ||
| Yes | b) Should background checks be required on gun sales between private citizens at gun shows? | ||
| Yes | c) Should a license be required for gun ownership? | ||
| Common sense gun legislation. No Democrat wants to take your weapons away, that is Republican baloney. | |||
| Yes | a) Should the state government increase funding for treatment facilities to combat opioid abuse? | ||
| Yes | b) Do you support a government-run (single-payer) healthcare program such as Medicare-for All? | ||
| Yes | c) Should an individual have the right to choose to die through euthanasia? | ||
| Yes | d) Do you support eliminating religious exemptions for vaccinations? | ||
| Yes | e) Do you support expanding paid family AND/OR medical leave opportunities? | ||
| Yes | f) Do you support lowering the cost of prescription drugs? | ||
| Our federal Food & Drug Administration totally failed us on opiods. | |||
| Yes | a) Do you support the inclusion of sexual orientation in Arizona's anti-discrimination laws? | ||
| Yes | b) Do you support the inclusion of gender identity in Arizona's anti-discrimination laws? | ||
| Yes | c) Do you support greater efforts by Arizona's state government in closing gender, racial and other wage gaps? | ||
| Our legislature should not ban trans children from particiapting in a sport they gender identify. This is a very difficult evolving issue, but a 100% "fits all" ban is wrong. There are sport governing boards in place that have this oversight already. A 100% ban- NO. | |||
| Water conservation is a must in this state. We can save 20-30% through some common sense regulation. I would support a residential watering prohibition between 10 am and 6 pm, run PSAs on water conservation, assist water districts with water leak detection, assist our farmers and ranchers to change from flood irrigation to micro irrigation, monitor pumped ground water use throughout the state, charge Saudi Arabia the market price for their land and water use of state lands, etc. There are many ways to conserve water in this state. | |||
| My top legislative priority is to fully support properly funding our public schools, get rid of charter school preferences and eliminate vouchers for private schools and home schools. This would be funded by portions of our surplus, incremental income tax rates and no more tax cuts. Our legislature is sitting on a $5 billion dollar surplus. |
