They are hard working and they will be a great contributor to the future society rather than being a burden. Teachers salaries are very low in Florida ranking 49th out of 50 States. We need to increase Teachers' salaries substaintially in keeping with other States and also to improve Public Education. | |||

| We need to improve public education in Florida, create awareness of Opiood abuse right from high school. Govt. is already negotiating drug prices for Medicare. That plan has to be expanded further to help everyone with better prices for prescrition drugs. | |||

| As a first priority, I would like to revamp the Homeowners Insurance Laws passed in 2022. Those 2 laws are not helping, $2.2 Billion given for reinsurance under those 2 Laws is sitting unused, not helping lower our insurance premiums. Since these laws connected car insurance with hurricane losses, our car insurance premiums also keep on going up and up. We need to create a true nonprofit insurance company to provide hurricane/windstorm loss coverage and all other insurance companies can provide Fire and Theft insurance. Such a change will drop our premiums like a rock. This was proposed this year under HB1213 but rejected in the Insurance and Banking subcommittee of the House. My second priority would be to do away with the ban on abortion in Florida. This Law passed in 2023 may go by the wayside anyway if Amendment 4 passes in November. And I would like to see the immediate implementation of Amendment 4, if it passes in Florida rather than Legislature putting road blocks in the implementation process. If Amendment 4 does not pass, I would like to work on terminating the ban on abortion in Florida. Lastly, I would like to see Public input in major projects in Florida expanded. Whenever any Agency is involved in a project costing more than $50 Million, one of the first requirements should be to seek public input at its inception. I would like to propose a Bill to that effect, which may eventually become Law, if passed by both Houses and signed by the Governor. |
