Issue Positions

For Presidential and Congressional candidates who refuse to provide voters with their positions, Vote Smart has researched their public records to determine their likely responses. These issue positions are from 2024.

  • "I am pro-life. Life begins at conception. Having fought evil people to protect our nation and sworn an oath to protect our Constitution, I am sick of watching us ignore the deaths of 100,000 youth last year to Opioids and Fentanyl, 600,000 last year to cancer when there are proven experimental cures available now, 300,000 innocent babies to abortion. The first words of our Constitution protect LIFE, yet we are losing more than 1 million precious lives every year. Americans need to get ANGRY about this. Saying we are Pro-Life isnt enough, we must do something and I will." (None)
  • "I would pursue legislation that would secure our borders, build a wall, and establish a national voter ID. We need to secure our borders because this has become a national security risk as well as health risk to Nebraska with the flow of drugs across the border. I would also pursue legislation that eliminates abortions and allows communities to care for the mother and her child from conception to life." (None)
  • Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation? "Pro-Life" (None)
  • Do you support expanding federal funding to support entitlement programs such as Social Security and Medicare? "No" (None)
  • In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket? "No" (None)
  • In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket? "No" (None)
  • "Money has corrupted politics. I am against big corporations having more of a voice in elections than the people. I am against party bosses and the establishment running politics. I am for the people choosing who elect their leaders." (None)
  • Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions? "Yes" (None)
  • "No one should be exempt from the law; certainly not government officials like politicians. I believe in Law and Order, and believe that the men and women of law enforcement are HEROES who deserve our absolute support. We need to increase funding for police and boarder patrol." (None)
  • Do you support the protection of government officials, including law enforcement officers, from personal liability in civil lawsuits concerning alleged misconduct? "No" (None)
  • "I spent 22 years in the military I know that we must maintain a cutting-edge military and bolster our intelligence agencies if America is going to remain the dominant force for freedom, we should continue to invest in research and development, so that our military has the technology they need to protect themselves and defend our wonderful country. Using the Just War theory, I believe in military intervention only when we have a threat to the national interest of the US and our allies. I believe we should do everything in our power to defend and protect U.S. sovereignty." (None)
  • Do you support increasing defense spending? "Yes" (None)
  • Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth? "No" (None)
  • "The Biden administration has spent billions and billions of dollars on things we don’t need. Why do we need a "transportation equity" agency to ensure that we don’t have too many male truck drivers? Why are we spending billions on battery technologies that are controlled by the Chinese Communist Party and built by Chinese workers? The result of needless spending is runaway inflation, which has made it harder for normal Americans to afford necessities. Inflation has hit our seniors especially hard, many of whom live on a fixed income. It’s time to get this inflation under control." (www.weaverforsenate.com)

  • "Nebraska has great elections, and we should all be grateful for that. But even in August 2022, we saw multiple states hold primaries where they hadn’t counted ballots nearly a week after the elections. This is unacceptable even in the world’s oldest Republic. It’s time to end the COVID-era changes to our elections–we need to go back to having an election day in this country, not an election season, and we need other common-sense measures too: Voter ID, signature verification on absentee ballots, and end mail-in voting. Taking steps like these will ensure that we conduct our elections with integrity in the future." (www.weaverforsenate.com)
  • Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, geo-thermal)? "No" (None)
  • "Nebraska had the Keystone XL pipeline going right through it. It’s time for our nation’s leaders to recognize and implement policies that properly support the ample natural energy we can harness and produce right here at home. There is no reason for us to be buying foreign oil at insane prices and continue straining families financially just to fill up their tanks. There’s also no need to be tapping into our strategic oil reserves to lower prices like Biden has done. We need common-sense energy policies that put the American consumer first, so that our country can become energy independent." (www.weaverforsenate.com)
  • "Pipelines (Keystone Pipeline though Nebraska) are important to our energy infrastructure and to our energy independence and important to global emissions, too. The primary way to reduce emissions with respect to methane, for instance, would be to stop flaring and put that into a pipeline. Our own National Laboratories have done studies on this that show that Russian natural gas has well over 40 percent more emissions than U.S. natural gas. The US produces cleaner natural gas and we need to produce more of it and import less. We need energy independence." (None)
  • "I am 100% Pro 2A / constitutional carry. When it comes to defending our rights, I?m adamant about protecting our constitutional right to bear arms and for constitutional carry. I will always fight for Second Amendment rights. This right must never be infringed upon, but we must do a better job of enforcing current laws, especially background checks, so that guns stay out of the wrong hands. I will never allow the government to prevent law-abiding citizens from defending themselves or owning weapons. I am 100% against a national gun registry." (None)
  • Do you generally support gun-control legislation? "No" (None)
  • "I am focused on health care solutions that lower your costs at the pharmacy counter, increases transparency, and puts YOU in control of your health care decisions, not the federal government. Democrats in Congress are proposing massive government takeovers of our health care system with proposals like Medicare for All and pharmaceutical price controls. These policies will force you into a one-size-fits-all, government-run health plan, and restrict your access to new innovative cures. What we need is a free market, competitive, patient-centered health care system. I am against all vaccination and mask mandates." (None)
  • Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")? "Yes" (None)

While President Trump has taken action to improve the conditions at the border, Congress has to reform our laws for there to be a substantial change. Democrats refuse to address the issue at its source and are advocating for open border policies. This is wrong and unfair to legal immigrants, asylum seekers, migrants who are trafficked, and the Customs and Border Protection agents at the border. I will act as soon as I get to congress." (None)

  • "no more funding to Ukraine." (x.com)
  • "I know the technology industry well. I helped to create US Cyber Command in 2009, and I’m sick of politicians who talk big about Big Tech but do nothing about it. The tech industry promised all of us better lives and faster communication; instead, it steals our private information, sells it to the Chinese, and then censors conservatives and others for daring to have a controversial opinion. The solution is simple: we need to break up the big tech companies, to reduce their power in our economy and our politics. We also need to ban the theft of our personal information. If they want our data, it’s time they paid for it." (www.weaverforsenate.com)

Pro-life Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
I am pro-life. No In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
No Do you support expanding federal funding to support entitlement programs such as Social Security and Medicare?
As a small business owner I know that it is not what you make, it is what you spend. Government is not the solution to our problems, but the cause. The government is a major part of the reason why we have an energy crisis, a struggling education system, and so many regulations in health care that competition and transparency are significantly impeded. Costs continue to spiral out of control and insurance is unaffordable for many. Families across the 1st District are required to live within their means, and the Federal government should too.
Yes Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
Money has corrupted politics. I am against big corporations having more of a voice in elections than the people. I am against party bosses and the establishment running politics. I am for the people choosing who elect their leaders.
No Do you support the protection of government officials, including law enforcement officers, from personal liability in civil lawsuits concerning alleged misconduct?
No one should be exempt from the law; certainly not government officials like politicians. I believe in Law and Order, and believe that the men and women of law enforcement are HEROES who deserve our absolute support. We need to increase funding for police and boarder patrol.
Yes Do you support increasing defense spending?

No Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes Do you support lowering corporate taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
No Do you support providing financial relief to businesses AND/OR corporations negatively impacted by the state of national emergency for COVID-19?
No! Absolutely not, that's how inflation has gotten out of control. I would not have done the lockdown in the first place that put business in this position to need money for COVID relief.
No Do you support requiring states to adopt federal education standards?
We need to increase the opportunities for school choice for all students and make sure tax dollars go towards improve your quality and rewarding the teachers. We also need to encourage vocational training and programs that give workers skills that are in demand that lead to good jobs. I was home schooled for six years and I firmly believe that school choice for parents is necessary. I would abolish the Department of Education at the federal level. Education standards should bet set and administered by the state. I am against "forgiving" student loan debt.
No Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, geo-thermal)?
Yes Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?

Yes Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
No Do you support requiring businesses to provide paid medical leave during public health crises, such as COVID-19?
I am focused on health care solutions that lower your costs at the pharmacy counter, increases transparency, and puts YOU in control of your health care decisions, not the federal government. Democrats in Congress are proposing massive government takeovers of our health care system with proposals like Medicare for All and pharmaceutical price controls. No Should the United States use military force to prevent governments hostile to the U.S. from possessing a weapon of mass destruction (for example: nuclear, biological, chemical)?
Yes Do you support reducing military intervention in Middle East conflicts?
UKRAINE: I would have fully supported the arming of Ukrainians to defend themselves against Russian aggression. I would have done it sooner. I would NOT support of the US military engaging in defending Ukraine whether through a no-fly zone of troops on the ground. I majored in Russian, I lived in Russia and I speak Russian. This election is about national security and I am the most qualified candidate and the most able to deal with security problems. My assessment of Russia is that Russians are facing a Ukraine military that is exceptionally determined, surprisingly capable and innovative.
Yes Do you generally support removing barriers to international trade (for example: tariffs, quotas, etc.)?
I grew up farming, earned my degree in agriculture and understand that farmers and ranchers facing a volatile era for commodities deserve our support. In Congress, I will fight for our farmers, including supporting infrastructure to increase production of value-added products, fighting reckless trade policies and regulations that hurt agriculture, supporting, and investing in technical assistance for farmers to improve agricultural productivity.
I would pursue legislation that would secure our borders, build a wall, and establish a national voter ID. We need to secure our borders because this has become a national security risk as well as health risk to Nebraska with the flow of drugs across the border. I would also pursue legislation that eliminates abortions and allows communities to care for the mother and her child from conception to life.
