  • " The codification of Roe v. Wade at the federal level would enshrine the right to access safe and legal abortions as a fundamental right protected by law. Electing candidates who support this ensures that reproductive rights are preserved and not subject to changes or restrictions that could limit access to abortion services. Codifying Roe v. Wade at the federal level protects against potential rollbacks or challenges to abortion rights that may arise at the state level. This continuity ensures that access to abortion services remains consistent across the nation, preventing a patchwork of laws that could limit or eliminate these essential healthcare services in certain areas." (treyonthehunt.com)
  • "Guaranteeing abortion rights supports the human rights of women to make decisions about their own bodies, health, and futures. It promotes bodily autonomy and empowers women to make informed choices about their reproductive health, contributing to their overall well-being and agency. Codifying abortion rights ensures that individuals have access to safe and legal abortions. When these rights are protected by law, it means that people can seek medical help without fear of legal repercussions. Access to safe abortions can prevent complications, reduce maternal mortality rates, and protect the health and lives of women." (treyonthehunt.com)
  • "You've paid into Social Security. You deserve a livable wage. When I am elected, I will make sure those collecting Social Security have more than a livable amount, because they paid for it, and they deserve it." (x.com)
  • "Medicaid expansion would provide health coverage to millions of low-income individuals who currently fall into the coverage gap. This expansion would allow more people, including Texans and those in rural areas, to access essential healthcare services, preventive care, and treatments they might otherwise forgo due to financial constraints. Healthcare costs can be burdensome, especially for those without insurance. Expanding Medicaid would alleviate financial strain on individuals and families by reducing out-of-pocket healthcare expenses, making essential medical services more affordable and accessible." (treyonthehunt.com)
  • "Raise Social Security Benefits for the elderly, stop taxing Social Security and Medicare, & #TermLimits for Congress." (x.com)
  • "For the record, billionaires' tax cuts have increased the national debt. Trickle-down economics does not work." (x.com)
  • "We deserve a livable, we deserve affordable housing, we deserve healthcare, and we deserve to have a comfortable retirement. We must end the cutting and slashing of programs because tax cheats refuse to pay their fair share. We deserve an equitable America!" (x.com)
  • "We deserve an America that benefits all, not just the elite. That golden age of America that is fondly reminisced upon is when the rich were taxed and the government was well funded." (x.com)

  • "Oil and gas companies get BILLIONS in tax breaks, yet Americans suffer with high prices at the pump. I want a federal government that supports electric cars, public transportation, and renewable energy. NO MORE SPECIAL INTEREST MONEY IN POLITICS." (x.com)
  • "We need campaign finance reform, and those currently in office will not give up their special interest paycheck. We need to elect a new generation of leaders who will vote for what is best for our nation, not for their wallet." (x.com)

  • "By redirecting resources and expertise from the military sector to green technology and public transportation, there is an opportunity to significantly contribute to environmental conservation and sustainable development. Green technology and public transportation initiatives can help reduce carbon emissions, mitigate climate change, and promote the use of renewable energy sources. Leveraging the skills and knowledge from the Military Industrial Complex can accelerate the development and deployment of innovative solutions aimed at addressing environmental challenges. " (treyonthehunt.com)
  • "It is important to accept the reality and necessity of jobs associated with the Military Industrial Complex. Instead of trying to defund contractors, we need to propose policies that will transition that knowledge and skilled labor into building green technology and public transportation. Many communities heavily rely on the defense industry for employment and economic stability. Transitioning the skills and knowledge from the Military Industrial Complex to green technology and public transportation sectors can help retain these jobs while simultaneously fostering sustainable and environmentally friendly industries. This transition can provide a pathway for workers to continue utilizing their expertise while contributing to industries that are aligned with the goals of environmental sustainability and renewable energy." (treyonthehunt.com)
  • "I imagine the military defense contractors refocusing their efforts to building green energy public transportation vehicles. We will keep jobs in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex and the United States, and the products created will directly benefit our communities." (x.com)
  • "Investing in green energy and products will open up new job opportunities and create more sustainable communities. When I am elected, I will assist with transferring those working in the fossil fuel industry to the green sector." (x.com)
  • "It is because of Build Back Better that I am finally getting a train station down the street from my house that will allow me to commute to my job in the Homeless Services District outside of downtown. When elected, I will bring more great projects." (x.com)
  • "By investing in housing projects, the government can create jobs and stimulate economic activity, leading to an increase in the overall income of the population. As people have more disposable income, they might be more willing and able to afford housing, leading to a more balanced and sustainable rental market. Housing programs with attached strings can contribute to fostering social cohesion by promoting a sense of reciprocity and shared responsibility. By encouraging beneficiaries to contribute to their communities or to engage in activities that benefit society, these programs can help build stronger social ties and encourage a sense of mutual support and cooperation. When applicable, a housing program should motivate individuals to work towards self-sufficiency rather than relying solely on government assistance. Give people a jump start. By incentivizing education, job training, or employment, these conditions can help individuals develop the skills and resources necessary to secure stable employment and eventually transition into independent housing." (treyonthehunt.com)
  • "Through private-public agreements, government spending on housing projects can lead to the construction of more affordable housing units. By increasing the overall housing supply, it can help alleviate the demand pressure on the existing housing market. This increased supply can help to stabilize or even decrease rent prices, as more competition will decrease the ability to charge higher rents. Government spending can be directed towards the creation of affordable housing programs that specifically target low-income individuals or families. These programs can provide subsidies or incentives to developers to build affordable housing units or to landlords to offer affordable rental rates. By increasing the availability of affordable housing, the government can indirectly influence the overall rental market and encourage landlords to keep their rents at more reasonable levels." • "If you do not want to go to college, there are other fulfilling jobs. If you want to go, financial aid should not be an obstacle. It is time to end the student debt crisis and make higher education more accessible. (x.com)
  • "Make community colleges free, forgive up to $50,000 in student loan debt, raise the minimum wage to $15, and back unions so workers can increase their negotiating power and gain greater benefits." (x.com)
  • "Student debt forgiveness is an anti-poverty initiative." (x.com)
  • "I typically avoid hypotheticals, but Republicans have been signaling that they'll do anything to hold on to power. It is the responsibility of the Democratic US Senate to protect voting rights and safeguard our democracy." (x.com)
  • "The 2020 election was not stolen, but every election after will be in jeopardy if we do not pass voting rights protection NOW." (x.com)
  • "We are either enfranchising more voters or disenfranchising. We need the Voting Rights Act put into law." (x.com)
  • "Going green is an investment in our people and our environment. We can no longer sustain on oil and gas; the Texas Freeze earlier this year proved that." (x.com)

  • "Pray for the children, the families, and for sensible gun legislation and more mental health services. This needless violence is preventable." (x.com)
  • "Every year, more kids die from gun violence than active-duty police officers and the military combined. For decades, corporate politicians like my opponent have loosened gun laws while cutting funding to valuable social programs that deter violence. Time for change in leadership!" (x.com)
  • "Responsible gun owners support sensible gun control legislation. I'm a gun owner, and I'm a Democrat. We can exist as both owners who embrace the 2nd Amendment while keeping our children's schools & other public places safe." (x.com)
  • "By improving access to healthcare, Medicaid expansion can contribute to economic stability. When people have coverage for healthcare needs, they are more likely to seek preventive care and address health issues earlier, reducing the risk of more severe and expensive health problems down the line. This, in turn, can improve workforce productivity and reduce absenteeism due to health issues. Rural areas often struggle with hospital closures due to financial challenges and low patient volumes. Federal funding during the pandemic provided relief to these hospitals, preventing closures and ensuring that rural communities had access to essential healthcare services. Expanding Medicaid would continue to support these hospitals by increasing the number of insured patients, reducing uncompensated care costs, and stabilizing the healthcare infrastructure in rural America." (treyonthehunt.com)
  • "Medicaid expansion would provide health coverage to millions of low-income individuals who currently fall into the coverage gap. • "When I was in graduate school working two jobs, my kidneys started to fail, and a $500 bill turned into a $1,000 bill. That is not the America the founding father would have wanted. When I am elected, I will work to guarantee every American healthcare." (x.com)
  • "Paid parental leave for all." (x.com)
  • "Paid paternity leave for all workers." (x.com)
  • "Many of my family members and friends have suffered from diabetes and the ability to pay for insulin. The cost of insulin should be capped at $35." (x.com)
  • " Securing the United States and Mexico is not inherently opposed to liberal causes; rather, it can align with these causes by promoting humanitarian values, orderly immigration, fair labor practices, environmental protection, and international cooperation. The approach to border security can be crafted in a way that upholds liberal principles of justice, fairness, and compassion while addressing legitimate security concerns." (treyonthehunt.com)
  • "A secure border can help ensure the safety and protection of individuals seeking asylum or refuge from violence, persecution, or other humanitarian crises. Border regulation can help immigration flows and ensure that individuals seeking entry go through legal channels, thus safe guarding human rights and supporting vulnerable populations. A secure border can facilitate the safe passage of asylum-seekers while deterring human trafficking, drug trafficking, and exploitation." (treyonthehunt.com)
  • "Creating a clear pathway to citizenship for migrants and refugees in the United States is crucial for its significant economic benefits to local and state economies. As citizens, migrants and refugees contribute to tax revenues through income taxes, property taxes, and sales taxes. Their increased earning potential, as well as their businesses generating revenue, leads to more tax contributions, which benefit local and state economies by funding public services such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, and public safety. In many sectors, there are labor shortages that immigrants can help fill. Additionally, as the native-born population ages, immigrants can help address demographic changes by replenishing the workforce and supporting the social welfare system through their contributions." This candidate has responded to a Political Courage Test in a previous election. As a continued effort to provide the American public with factual information on candidates running for public office, these archived responses are made available here.
Pro-choice Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
I support the right of individual autonomy and self-determination and listen to the scientific community on what constitutes self-sustaining life. Women will have abortions regardless of whether they are legal or not, so much like Ronald Regan did while Governor of California, we must make abortion accessible. Additionally, I support making contraceptives more affordable and accessible to help decrease the number of unwanted pregnancies.
Yes Do you support expanding federal funding to support social safety net programs such as Social Security and Medicare?
The wealth inequality in America has grown. Compared to overall economic productivity, most Americans' wages have stagnated, and benefits have been significantly reduced. The wealthiest of Americans have only increased their wealth and pay a relatively low tax rate. We can obtain a balanced budget by ensuring those avoiding their fair share give back to our nation.
Yes Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations, unions, and individuals?
I support campaign finance reform.
No Do you support the protection of government officials, including law enforcement officers, from personal liability in civil lawsuits concerning alleged misconduct?
No one is above the law. Every negative action should be held accountable, just as every positive action should be praised. Government officials and law enforcement should be appropriately trained and educated to help decrease the likelihood of negative actions. We must also change our cultural mindset, which directly or indirectly impacts those decisions.
No Do you support increasing defense spending?
The U.S. spends more on its military than the following nine highest-spending countries combined. In an era when diplomacy has a more significant effect than the stick, we must now focus on supporting a nation domestically to increase our economic leverage when negotiating. A cornerstone of my platform is transitioning military contractors into becoming the builders of public transportation vehicles and other green technologies.
Yes Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes Do you support providing financial relief to businesses AND/OR corporations negatively impacted by the state of national emergency for COVID-19?
Unknown Position Do you support the federal government taking action, beyond those of the Federal Reserve, to alleviate inflation?
Federal assistance should be given to small businesses, start-ups, and other businesses that work at a loss but greatly contribute to a community. One example would be a grocery store in a food desert or swamp. When larger-scale groceries do not see it as economically viable to be in lower-income neighborhoods, they do not put stores leading to citizens who are forced to either find adequate transportation to the grocery store or succumb to less nutritionally rich food available in convenient stores and fast food establishments.
Yes Do you support the forgiveness of federal student loan debt?
No Do you support requiring a government-issued identification in order to vote at the polls?
Yes Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, geo-thermal)?
Yes Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
Climate change is impacting nearly every corner of our nation. In my state of Texas, we are affected by tornadoes, wildfires, and hurricanes, all of which have increased in frequency and severity since we have increased our negative impact on the environment. My platform focuses on utilizing the American work ethic and ingenuity to build new green technology to help address climate change. When we invest in our people, we invest in our future.
Yes Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
I support proactive gun policies that seek to deter gun violence. Reactionary policies will not have the most significant effect compared to proactive policies that increase the accessibility to mental health services and investment in economically challenged areas. For too long, these resources have not been available everywhere, and if they are, they are underfunded. We must be proactive in our efforts if we want to be effective.
Unknown Position Do you support a government-run (single-payer) healthcare program, such as Medicare-for-All?
Yes Do you support expanding paid family AND/OR medical leave opportunities?
Unknown Position Do you support lowering the cost of prescription drugs?
More than 20 industrialized nations with lower GDPs can guarantee their citizens universal health care, so why not the United States? The federal government should make healthcare affordable and accessible to all Americans, so that small businesses are not constrained by policies that disproportionately affect them.
Yes Do you support increasing security along the southern US border?
Unknown Position Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
If we want to deter illegal immigration to the United States, we must take proactive approaches. Since the largest influx of illegal immigration comes from countries experiencing the effects of drug wars, America can create legislation that offers Americans substance rehabilitation programs. The American consumption of illicit narcotics fuels the drug wars. The two primary policies I support are substance abuse programs to decrease meth and opioid use, and I support the legalization of recreational marijuana. By taking away the economic factor from the gangs, we stop them from creating humanitarian crises that fuel illegal immigration.
Unknown Position Do you support economic intervention as a means of resolving international conflicts?
Unknown Position Do you support the U.S. providing increased offensive military aid to Ukraine?
The continued military intervention in foreign nations will continue to errors relations and further jeopardize American safety. Instead, we must practice diplomacy and exercise sanctions that directly impact those in positions of power. When those options fail, the United States must do what is necessary to protect our people.
Unknown Position Do you support raising taxes, on any income or on any entity, to promote economic growth?
Yes Do you generally support removing barriers to international trade (for example: tariffs, quotas, etc.)?
The effectiveness is questionable, but their damage to foreign trade relationships is evident. It is a tool that can be used to apply pressure, but not at the cost of American jobs and the economy.
1. Infrastructure, green technology, and public transportation are economic and job-creating opportunities. We must re-envision federal funding and shift the focus of military contractors to building public transportation vehicles and green energy products. 2. Affordable and accessible healthcare. The pandemic confirmed the healthcare gap. We must address the healthcare insecurities plaguing rural America. I will advocate for the expansion of Medicare and Medicaid. 3. Criminal justice reform focused on true rehabilitation, transitional support, and proactive policies that deter crime before it happens. We must correct a system that is a drain on taxpayer money and the souls of communities.
