| Let's be clear, society is seeking more personal responsibility with regard to reproductive rights as an avenue to reduce the use of abortion on demand. The incidence of pregnancy due to rape and incest is a social ill, but represents less than 2% of all abortions requested. It should not be used, nor the need to save the life of the mother, as the reason to justify the rate of abortions for convenience of the requester. Pregnancy prevention alternatives have been widely available since the 1970s as is education on the mechanism of conception. Human life is precious. | |||

| Raising taxes is not a means to and end for stimulating economic growth; a fair free enterprise and legal system is. I believe you can't spend your way to prosperity. I believe in an equitable level of taxation for essential services and infrastructure and that be shared among all taxpayers commensurate with their financial means. All citizens should have some skin in the game. Those who are truly unable to function in society, government has a role to assist those persons and not burden them with taxation but that defining criteria has gotten way too generalized today. | |||

| Violent crimes are a wide spectrum, so is under the age of 18. Those acting against the life and rights of an individual in a "violent" manner, nearer to the age of majority, require swift and punitive intervention. The enforcement of federal immigration laws would be less a burden if the government policy makers and agencies would allow the Customs and Immigration agents to uphold the laws on immigration. The "medical" use of marijuana is a farce with respect to making it available for smoking. Name one other medicinal drug that's route of administration is to smoke it. | |||

Systems for bid, contracting, and legal oversight need to be fair and equitable so all businesses can compete for projects at an optimal price that builds in a reason profit margin or gain over time that is not a burden on society. Small businesses, the bulk of employers in SC, should be the priority who deserve compensation and assistance to get them back to where thee were before forced closures and stagnant labor force. | |||

State funding creates waste and artificially hides the incentive for profit to be considered. Clear water and clean air are essential for human life and government has a role to play in responsible standards and regulations. It needs to be a partnership with industry and city planners to build in such a way that limits contaminants that make existence toxic. | |||

There is far too much cross border meddling especially by deep pocket businesses, corporations, and entrepreneurs. So much so that the individual donors contributions are mostly ineffective to demonstrate constituent needs and desires. I support expedient/automatic registration when citizenship is verified as part of the process. | |||

| I do agree with universal background checks that make that transportable for use in more than one location to include gun shows. Once checked barring any existing federal criminal reason to restrict that check should be valid for any similar use. This puts the burden on law enforcement and criminal databases to interact in a timely manner. | |||

| We need to stop this philosophy that laws can not be universally applied and society must stop creating and recognizing special classes of person beyond the genetic science and those who suffer from limiting disabilities. Wage discrimination is an academic pursuit that merits monitoring but it should not be a rush to legal remedy enforcement to an ever expanding spectrum of whom may be disadvantaged and why. Transgender athletes have physiological and skeletal development traits that are acomparative advantage. This would also be true if transgenders competed only against other transgenders. The same comparative advantages would make that competition unfair. | |||
| Eliminate personal property taxation. It is regressive and punitive in the reality that the county percentages assessed are largely unregulated and it is a disincentive to purchasing new and replacement capital items such as cars, fishing boats, water craft, and other personal vehicles. The listing of maximum taxation items is an arbitrary list of products that is too expansive to be considered all "luxury items". | |||
| Reducing and eliminating personal property tax which is already the norm in 23 states. Government needs to focus on foreign investment and trade to return to tariffs for items brought to our state for sale. This will generate local production for goods and services, more economic engines at work generating sales within and outside our borders, increased interstate commerce may benefit from fees, and more fiscal restrain focused on essential government services and state infrastructure. |
