| Healthcare is a human right. Under our current system, too many Americans have to deal with crushing medical debt. Whether due to the birth of their child or the illness of a loved one, folks all over the country can?t take the time to celebrate, mourn, or recover as the bills start rolling in. Even those who are insured often face incredibly high premiums or fights over what care should be covered. By moving to a single payer system, we can prevent many of these battles and take the financial motivation out of the insurance industry as a whole, shifting goals to patient care and satisfaction. | |||

Steps must be taken to protect them from the anonymous bullying that can take place on every platform. At the same time, we must ensure that our First Amendment right to free speech is protected. This issue will continue to evolve as new platforms pop up and the landscape of the internet shifts. | |||
| Our top priority must be tackling the immense dangers of climate change. While there are a myriad of pressing issues- attacks on our democratic systems, public education, and women?s rights- immediate action on climate change must be taken to prevent even greater danger. Natural disasters are increasing in number and intensity, as we?ve seen in Texas, climate migration is already causing mass numbers of people to flee drought or flooding, and the world economy continues to depend on fossil fuels to function. We need to recognize the threat that we?re facing is not some far off thing that will impact future generations, but is already wrecking cities, destabilizing economies, and killing people around the world and right here at home. We also must take action on healthcare, ensuring every American has affordable, high-quality coverage. This includes protecting every woman?s right to reproductive health, including abortion and contraception, lowering the cost of life saving prescription drugs, and expanding access to paid family leave. Finally, we must tackle the affordable housing crisis that is impacting every county in every state across the US. Having an affordable, safe home for you and your family is the foundation of freedom. We must do better for our neighbors, and it is imperative that we address this problem today. |
