| Pro-Choice is a misnomer as their are various levels of issues within the abortion debate. The bottom line is that women's reproductive rights are at issue. Women's fundamental right to dignity and privacy are being taken away. The issue is being touted as a religious issue; yet, the Establishment Clause and Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment clearly discusses the relationship between church and state in the Constitution. Women may be given the right to have an abortion; yet, that doesn't mean that the right will be exercised. | |||

| I support modification to the key social programs to maintain key benefits in our society. It does not take further expansion of funding to create changes in entitlement programs. It take innovative management of the programs to develop cost savings. Medicare is a $3.6T program and only collects $1.4T in payments creating a further deficit. Medicare pays for Medicaid and subsidies in the healthcare market place. Still healthcare costs increase for the rest of society. Ironically, 54% of the State of California Medi-Cal funds are provided by the federal government. | |||

Yet, people still continue to illegally cross into our nation. I support the current law and would collaborate to change immigration policies to cancel per country quotas and caps; changes include modification of skilled labor categories based upon economic need (e.g. construction workers, plumbers, electricians, etc).
