| a) Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation? | |||
| Yes | b) Do you support legalizing abortion when the pregnancy resulted from incest or rapes? | ||
| No | c) Do you support the prohibition of public funds (e.g. Medicaid) for organizations that perform abortions? | ||
| I am not comfortable stating that I am pro-choice. As I am basicaly pro-life and tend to support pro-life legislation. | |||
| No | a) In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing state employee salaries AND/OR pensions? | ||
| Yes | b) Do you support a decrease in income taxes in order to balance the budget in your state? | ||
| No | c) Do you support a wealth tax in order to pay for public programs in your state? | ||
| Yes | d) Do you support the legalization and regulation of wagering on collegiate sporting events involving NJ based teams? | ||
| No | e) Do you support a reduction in State and Local Tax Deductions, otherwise known as SALT? | ||
| I do not believe in taking away $$$ or pension/benefits from employees. Also starting new employees at lower salaries or benefits than current employees can be a dicey proposition as disparities in compensation can cause internal morale problems. | |||
| Yes | a) Do you support capital punishment for violent crimes? | ||
| Yes | b) Should an individual under 18 accused of a violent crime be prosecuted as an adult? | ||
| Yes | c) Do you support the enforcement of federal immigration laws by state and local police? | ||
| No | d) Do you support the use of private prisons? | ||
| Yes | e) Do you support mandatory minimum sentences for nonviolent drug offenders? | ||
| Individuals under 18 in the 15 to 18 year range wo are commiting adult crimes should be prosecuted as adults. As they are perfectly capable of knowing right from wrong. Federal immigration laws should be enforced by all state and local police....these are crimes. It seems that minimum sentences are one of the ways users get back on track and what is considered a nonviolet drug offense anyway. | |||
| No | a) Do you support state government spending as a means of promoting economic growth (e.g. grants, tax incentives)? | ||
| Yes | b) Do you support reducing state government regulations on the private sector? | ||
| No | c) Do you support an increase of the minimum wage of New Jersey? | ||
| No | d) Do you support government spending on affordable housing projects in New Jersey? | ||
| Item B. There are way too many regulations in NJ now; we are one of the most difficult states to do business in. Item C. Minimum wage has been increased enough already increasing it further at this time will make it even harder for small businesses to operate. Item D. I learned when I was a NJ Mayor that there are plenty of developers who are more than willing to tackle affordable housing projects. So no, government spendng is not really necessary. | |||
| No | a) Do you support adopting federal education standards (e.g. Common Core) in New Jersey? | ||
| Yes | b) Do you support state funding for charter schools? | ||
| No | c) Do you support increasing teacher salaries AND/OR benefits in New Jersey? | ||
| No | d) Should immigrants in the United States who graduate from New Jersey high schools be eligible for in-state tuition at public universities, regardless of immigration status? | ||
| a)Education in our municipalities should be controlled by home rule. b)Teachers currently do pretty well salary and benefits wise but to attract new hires we need to off sign on bonuses or referral fees. Do some creative things to get people interested in teaching. Immigrants should be eligible for the same in-state tuition as citizen grads, face it these folks are not leaving anytime soon unless forced to Give them the tools to contribute to our society/economy. | |||
| No | a) Do you support state funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, geo-thermal)? | ||
| Yes | b) Do you support state governments allowing permits for drilling on public lands? | ||
| Yes | c) Do you support increasing state funding for clean drinking water initiatives? | ||
| Renewable energy is major business in the US, realize that the Shell Corp. owns a portion of one of the wind farm companies/developers. With Goldman Sachs owning 20% of Orsted the wind company setting up business in the Atlantic City area.....these companies do fine on thier own. If rate payers receive a free ride at zero electric bills well then we can discuss the issue. | |||
| Yes | a) Do you support the regulation of campaign contributions from corporations, unions, and individuals? | ||
| Yes | b) Do you support the use of an independent or bipartisan commission for redistricting? | ||
| Yes | c) Do you support requiring a government-issued photo identification in order to vote at the polls? | ||
| Yes | d) Do you support automatic voter registration? | ||
| No | e) Do you support the implementation of ranked choice voting in New Jersey? | ||
| a) Averge people are not able to raise the kind of money these corporations and unions contribute. b) If the current redistricting is any sample of how bipartisan redistricting is turning out I definitelhy support independent individuals handling it. c) yes definitely but I don't think a government ID is necessary. Everyone has some form of ID, be it a college ID Card, food stamps card, drivers license with a picture or even work ID. It really is not that hard. | |||
| Yes | a) Do you generally support gun-control legislation (e.g. red flag laws, boyfriend loophole)? | ||
| Yes | b) Should background checks be required on gun sales between private citizens at gun shows? | ||
| Yes | c) Do you support the right to concealed carry in New Jersey? | ||
| We have some of the strictest laws in the country. We simply need to enforce our laws ncluding incarceration of violators. Background checks all around as collector fire arms have been used in crimes. Get the illegal guns off the streets, put this way, "got a gun but no permit go to jail". | |||
| Yes | a) Should the state government increase funding for treatment facilities to combat opioid abuse? | ||
| No | b) Do you support a government-run (e.g. single-payer) healthcare program such as Medicare-for-All? | ||
| No | c) Should an individual have the right to choose to die (e.g. those with a terminal illness) through euthanasia? | ||
| No | d) Do you support eliminating religious exemptions for vaccinations? | ||
| Yes | e) Do you support expanding paid family AND/OR medical leave benefits (e.g. maternity leave)? | ||
| Yes | f) Should the government be able to regulate the cost of prescription drugs? | ||
| No | g) Do you support the state legislature expanding the jurisdiction of the New Jersey Smoke Free Air Act to include outdoor public spaces such as Atlantic City casinos that have traditionally allowed it? | ||
| Perscription drug prices are out of sight with Medicare/medicaid paying the cost of course they have a right to regulate how much they will pay, All prescribers should OK the generic versions. Perfect example is my husband needed eyedrops last month. The cost is $250 a pop, we got the generic which was $5. Think about it. Medical leave should definitely be expanded and no one should have to take vaccinations they are not comfortable with. Children currently are expected to get over 28 doses of vacines for school. Too much . | |||
| No | a) Do you support inclusion of sexual orientation in New Jersey anti-discrimination laws? | ||
| No | b) Do you support the inclusion of gender identity in New Jersey anti-discrimination laws? | ||
| No | c) Do you support greater efforts by the New Jersey state government in closing gender, racial, and other wage gaps? | ||
| Someones gender or racial background or ethnic background etc. has not place in hiring employment practices. Fully enforce the laws we have now all of this is covered in the US Constitution. | |||
| Top priority is Parents Rights in Education along with medical choice etc. Parents should be full informed as to what is going on with thier children. Secrets have no place in the educational process and schools need to get back to worring about reading, writing , math to keep our kids competitive in this data driven world. Item two: My running mate and I will not vote YES on any item that includes an incease in taxes or fees of any kind. Item three: Dolphins and Whales - Save the marine wildlife and do not proceed with wind farms turning our oceans into industrial factories. Wind turbines will not have an impact on global warming. To the contrary wind farms have been found to increase the temps of the earth beneath them and require petroleum to work properly. Introducing electricity to salt water (oceans) creates eloctrolsys in the water and corrodes metals and boat fittings. |
