What is the Political Courage Test?

Florida Congressional Election 2018 Political Courage Test

Pro-life Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
I believe that life begins at conception so I would prefer if people were NOT having abortions. However, I'm not sure I would be happier forcing an innocent child to be born to a mother that doesn't want the child or would not maintain a healthy lifestyle during pregnancy that will allow the child a healthy birth. Additionally, it's somewhat hypocritical to allow abortion for some reasons but outlaw it for other reasons. In any case, while I don't think government should get involved in abortion, I believe abortion after 20-weeks should be illegal like it is in Europe.
No In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
No In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing defense spending?
I don't think raising taxes on citizens or reducing defense spending should be considered at the moment. I would first address the billions and billions in waste and fraud going on in government spending. We can recover close to $1 Trillion dollars a year if we do things right and stop the fraud.
Yes Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
It's important to know where the money is coming from.
Yes Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes Do you support lowering corporate taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
To a certain point. Nothing extreme on either side. Companies still have social responsibility though.
No Do you support requiring states to adopt federal education standards?
Yes Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, thermal)?
Yes Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
I definitely support the idea of government getting involved to make sure we are doing everything possible to limit pollution and maximize innovation.
No Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
The first mass shooting was in the 60s. Guns have been around since the start of this nation. We should first address mental health, background checks, school security, community involvement, inter-agency communications, and other failures of society and government.
No Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
I think we just need to take a step by step approach and fix its flaws.
Yes Do you support the construction of a wall along the Mexican border?
No Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
A wall does not mean we are going to refuse immigrants. It just means we need to gain control over the immigration situation and bring about order and respect for America's laws.
Yes Do you support the legalization of marijuana for recreational purposes?
Yes Should the United States use military force in order to prevent governments hostile to the U.S. from possessing a nuclear weapon?
Yes Do you support increased American intervention in Middle Eastern conflicts beyond air support?
We have to leave all options on the table when it comes to the safety of Americans. While I support American intervention should the need arise, everything needs to be calculated. Nothing reckless.
My priority at the moment is getting the national debt under control while at the same time helping Americans. Stimulating the economy will allow us to sustain ourselves and pay down the debt. Additionally, I hope to raise wages, focus on better education, retrain the workforce, eliminate fraud and waste, and make America greener. I don't foresee the need for additional funding. My plans will free up money by tackling the fraud and waste and redirecting the funds to the necessary projects.
