What is the Political Courage Test?

Wyoming Congressional Election 2018 Political Courage Test

Unknown Position Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
There are 600,000 abortions in this country every year, something all Americans likely agree on, and the number should be zero. Overturning R v. W will push the decision to the states, and those with the greatest number of abortions will be the states that where the procedure will remain legal. I believe overturning R v. W will have less than a 15% reduction in abortions. I am in favor of a national effort to reduce the number of unintended pregnancies, that is the only way to get the number to zero.
Unknown Position In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
Unknown Position In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing defense spending?
Every line item in the federal budget should be looked at closely. I am in favor of a fair and equitable tax system, and that the middle class should not see an increase in taxes.
Yes Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
No Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Unknown Position Do you support lowering corporate taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
I do not think we need to further reduce the statutory rate for corporate taxes, I am in favor of simplifying the tax code and eliminating tax incentives that drive behavior.
Unknown Position Do you support requiring states to adopt federal education standards?
I am in favor of education control to be as close to the local level as possible. In cases where a state is failing their responsibility, there may be a role in the federal government helping the state.
Yes Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, thermal)?
Unknown Position Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
This question is so general as to be impossible to answer. We already have some regulation, and I certainly do not think any company, or any person, should be free to pollute freely, the question must be answered on the specifics of the regulation.
Unknown Position Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
Again, unless the question asks specific legislative initiatives, it's impossible to answer.
Yes Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
It is not working in many states, and with many families. Healthcare in general must be addressed and improved.
Unknown Position Do you support the construction of a wall along the Mexican border?
Unknown Position Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
I have on my web site a detailed description of my immigration plan. An intelligent immigration plan is not "wall or no wall". In that, I explain why I am not in favor of rounding up 11 million people who do not want to be found, put them on planes and buses, and try to deport them (nor is the President or the Republican platform). There is a more intelligent way to handle this, outlined in detail on my web site.
Unknown Position Do you support the legalization of marijuana for recreational purposes?
It is up to the states to decide.
Unknown Position Should the United States use military force in order to prevent governments hostile to the U.S. from possessing a nuclear weapon?
Unknown Position Do you support increased American intervention in Middle Eastern conflicts beyond air support?
Please explain in a total of 100 words or less, your top two or three priorities if elected. If they require additional funding for implementation, please explain how you would obtain this funding.
