| Pro-life | Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation? | ||
| Pro-life 100% no exemptions | |||
| No | In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket? | ||
| No | In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing defense spending? | ||
| Our country needs a balanced budget, and they need to follow that budget. We need to get rid of frivolous spending while keeping our military strong. In order for a business to survive they have to follow their budget and make sure that they do not spend more than they take in. It is time that our government quits spending more than they take in. Our children are going to be stuck with a huge debt load that they will struggle with if we do not change our attitude now and start paying it off. | |||
| Yes | Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions? | ||
| I do support regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions. The more money a candidate receives from any one organization, the more they may consider swaying on their views and opinions if they have no moral back-bone. | |||
| Yes | Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth? | ||
| Yes | Do you support lowering corporate taxes as a means of promoting economic growth? | ||
| I would potentially support both these to promote economic growth; however much thought, evidence, and validation would have to be given on all aspects and ramifications of the methods used to promote economic growth. Any federal spending would have to be within budget and not put a further burden on our children and grand-children. When reducing taxes, much caution would have to be exercised to make sure that our government would be able to stay in budget, with any potential gains in economic growth greatly compensating for any potential short-term loss. | |||
| No | Do you support requiring states to adopt federal education standards? | ||
| States should have control of their own educational standards. | |||
| No | Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, thermal)? | ||
| Yes | Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions? | ||
| The private sector may develop renewable energy processes because they will be the ones to gain financially from the developments. The government should regulate greenhouse gas emissions within reason. The EPA has often tried to overstep their boundaries, and needs to be kept in check. | |||
| No | Do you generally support gun-control legislation? | ||
| We need to defend our second amendment rights while keeping our citizens safe and allowing them to protect themselves. Expanding gun-control legislation will only take guns out of law abiding citizens hands, not out of the hands of criminals. | |||
| Yes | Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")? | ||
| If you pull government 100% out of health care all at once, it is likely to collapse because of the current entrenchment. Government needs to be pulled out, but methodically and carefully, and healthcare returned back to the private sector. | |||
| Yes | Do you support the construction of a wall along the Mexican border? | ||
| No | Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship? | ||
| Good fences make good neighbors. The wall will define where the US border is, and we must defend our borders. There is a process for legal immigration and it must be followed. Unfortunately our nation has not been diligent on enforcing our borders and illegal immigration has occurred. The monetary cost to kick all illegal immigrants out of our country would be astronomical. Instead we need to get them registered, allow them to pay taxes, and require that they legally become citizens within a certain period of time or they will be removed. | |||
| Yes | Should the United States use military force in order to prevent governments hostile to the U.S. from possessing a nuclear weapon? | ||
| Yes | Do you support increased American intervention in Middle Eastern conflicts beyond air support? | ||
| If hostile nations possess nuclear weapons they can use them against the United States; therefore military force should be used to protect citizens in our country. | |||
