It should be pointed out that the basis for Roe v. Wade was largely based on the fact that women and girls were dying from botched illegal abortions, and attempt at self-abortion. There is no doubt that a return to pre-Roe days would lead to a return to a higher mortality rate. | |||

If it isn't already too late to save some semblance of the world we have come to know, we must take action now to reverse, halt, or at least slow the rate of change. | |||

However the Founding Fathers lived in the days of the single-shot musket, not the today of semi-automatic weapons with high-capacity magazines. We regulate almost everything else in our society. There is no reason the firearms should be singled out for special treatment. One must be old enough, licensed, and have passed a test in order to drive a car, or fly a plane. The is no reason not to regulate the sale, possession and use of firearms. | |||

No wall ever built actually served its intended purpose for long. A border wall would be an absolute waste of time, money and effort. | |||

| despite arguments to the contrary, there has never been any evidence that recreational marijuana is harmful. It should be regulated, and taxed. The same age restrictions, and laws related to the operation of motor vehicles, and use of firearms should be enforced. Marijuana can only be considered a "gateway" drug insofar as its illegality forces it to be sold by the same people who sell harder drugs. | |||

| As stated earlier, healthcare is my number one priority. It is unconscionable that healthcare in this country is not considered a basic human right, as it is in every other industrialized country on this planet. We must be better stewards of the environment, for the sake of our children, grandchildren, and our own health. Education must be improved across the board. Public schools must be better funded. Higher education must be more affordable, and technical education must be available and affordable. |
