Pro-choice Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
My mother had many difficulties conceiving me. I know how difficult those situations are. I support women and families in those situations. It's not my place to pass judgement.
Unknown Position In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
Unknown Position In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing defense spending?
This question is flawed. It assumes that we should balance the federal budget. Increasingly, economists are correcting that view. In fact, whenever we try to balance the federal budget, the economy crashes. For a deeper explanation, see the work of Professor Stephanie Kelton.
Yes Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
Yes, money is not speech. We need money out of elections.
Unknown Position Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Unknown Position Do you support lowering corporate taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
By definition, when the federal government spends (i.e. hires American contractors), the economy grows. Corporate tax cuts do not promote real economic growth. When companies get a tax break, they stash the money oversees or buy back their stocks. Neither outcome grows the real economy. It merely makes a few people infinitely richer.
Yes Do you support requiring states to adopt federal education standards?
In general, I support local education, but I do think American children need some sort of common experience in school, such as American history, literature, and civics.
Yes Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, thermal)?
Yes Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
I am pushing for a Green New Deal to employ the people while healing the climate. We need a carbon negative economy. Climate change is real, and while some of it is natural, much of it is man-made. This is not "rocket science." When certain gases get released, their container becomes hotter. We need to remember that the Earth is our home given to us by our Creator. We need to take better care of this beautiful gift. I support federal regulations for greenhouse gases.
Unknown Position Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
We need to remember that the Second Amendment exists to protect the States, the People, against the potential tyranny of the federal government. We have to be honest with ourselves - in an era where every phone call, email, and text is intercepted by unelected forces in Washington, D.C., are we still a free People? What's stopping the federal government from using its vast surveillance capabilities against us? We the People should re-affirm the Constitution's blessings of liberty and achieve real freedom for ourselves and our posterity.
Unknown Position Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
Obamacare forced the People to buy a product. There are better ways to deliver healthcare. In the United Kingdom, every person has access to guaranteed healthcare. That's what we should have in the U.S.A. We should not be forcing people to buy a product.
Unknown Position Do you support the construction of a wall along the Mexican border?
No Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
It's unclear what function this accomplishes. The vast majority of undocumented immigrants are contributing in positive ways to the economy. Entire industries would collapse without their labor. Moreover, many are parents of U.S. citizens, and the Constitution clearly forbids cruel and unusual punishment. Separating a child from their parent constitutes cruel and unusual punishment for that child.
Unknown Position Do you support the legalization of marijuana for recreational purposes?
I support keeping all substances far from schools and places where children and families congregate, but adult's lawful interactions with plants within their own home is their own business.
Unknown Position Should the United States use military force in order to prevent governments hostile to the U.S. from possessing a nuclear weapon?
No Do you support increased American intervention in Middle Eastern conflicts beyond air support?
We are in too many wars. Enough is enough. Let's support our troops. Let's bring them home to good-paying, local, Green jobs.
Guaranteed Healthcare ("Medicare for All") - Other countries with less money and lower taxes than us cover all of their citizen's medical needs. So should we. Debt-free College - Germany has debt-free college. So should we. Guaranteed Jobs Programs - We need a jobs program to rebuild our infrastructure. It should be modeled on the extremely popular and successful Civilian Conservation Corps of the 1930s.
