Prioritizing funding support for traditional public schools 2. Expanding affordable, reliable broadband internet coverage to every last mile 3. Ensuring a fair and proper redistricting process 4. Preventing wage theft and miss-classification of workers 5. Reevaluating the extent of the governor's executive power | |||
| My top legislative priority is to fully support traditional public education that serves all Hoosier students. The current funding formula drives money away from communities losing population, resulting in small town schools closing and important programs being cut. I support some form of a Rural Schools Grant added to the formula, in order that students in small communities can have the same educational opportunities as those in larger cities. We can also increase needed funding to all K-12 schools by phasing out vouchers and placing a moratorium on new charters. |
