| While I am against federal spending generally, I support greatly increased federal spending in New Jersey. Simply put, we are 50 out of 50 states in tax revenue sent to Washington vs. appropriations received back in return. We have been functioning as the "Piggy Bank of America" for many years, financing the rest of the country, and now we're broke. We desperately need greatly enhanced federal appropriations to improve our schools and infrastructure, uplift our poorest and most vulnerable residents, and grow our economy. I will fight every day to make this happen. | |||

However, we simply have to do a better job keeping guns out of the hands of people who should not be getting their hands on them. I propose enhanced vetting for gun permits which require permitting agencies to review the past 5 years of social media content of an applicant to see if that person has made specific violent threats that a reasonable permitting authority would conclude that they may intend to carry out with a firearm. Due process of law must be present at all times. | |||
