| As of right now the highest tax bracket is 39.6% on single filing income of roughly $415,000 or more. According to taxfoundation.org, between 1932-1935 the tax rate for someone making $1,000,000 plus was 63%, between 1936-1940 the rate was 79% on $5,000,000 plus. I'm not saying we need to take tax rates that high but we need to consider various options. With temporary tax brackets on millionaires and billionaires we need to also reduce both the budget and deficit, along with the integration of a new cannabis and hemp based/led economy. What about excessive corporate-profit taxes? | |||

| I think it's situational on this topic. Some grants should be a available to states with strong federal reform guidelines, while other grants should have little federal input. Ultimately, the Department of Education should probably be reevaluated, overhauled, the federal grant process simplified, etcetera. The states need to be holding themselves accountable and stop relying so heavily on the federal government. The thought of a federal grant being "competitive" with regards to education seems a little suspicious to me as well. | |||
