| I want to keep your money in your pocket. I've frequently provided aid to struggling members of my family and donated to help feed and educate children. I encourage you to join me, but I don't want to spend your money for you. Government is not a charity, it is a bureaucracy enforced by jails. Most of our funding problems are caused by bad politics. Government will always spend the money you give it. I advocate a CAUTIOUS and slow reduction of funding for every part of government, returning that money to the people who honestly earned it. | |||
| I don't believe in cutting all taxes overnight. I'm not a fool and I realize the practical need to work with other politicians. How can we fund the state's needed services while cutting all of the taxes I discussed above? I'm drafting a strategy to create an endowment for the state. This is a 80 to 100 year plan which would gradually eliminate taxes while still fully funding our government. It's the financial equivalent of putting a man on the moon, I admit, but it can be done with enough public support. | |||

We need a graduated approach to reducing salaries and future commitments. I oppose pulling the rug out from under current public servants. I support using the rainy day fund for emergencies, not for ongoing spending. | Having been unemployed recently, I know what it's like to be desperate for work. What we need to do is rebuild the job engine by making it easier to employ workers and to manufacture products. We can't cannibalize the job market and expect it to improve. Government spending does not grow the economy. I deal with this in great depth in my book, The Profit Bargaining Ratio Theory. I support protections other than direct financial assistance to prevent foreclosures on homeowners. I don't support funding which will end up in the hands of corporate moneylenders. | |||

| We need to give students and teachers a choice. Politicians have been "fixing" education for decades, that's what got us where we are. Let teachers decide how to teach, let parents decide what schools and teachers to go to, and let the state pay for it. Having taught in the classroom, and having seen how Common Core is presented to teachers, I oppose it. I believe in making immigration easier, and enforcing laws which keep criminals and terrorists out. | |||

| Reforming our political system is priority number one. Politicians need to be honest and open with the people. We need to breakup the two-party monopoly between Republicans and Democrats. Our state's job market is our second priority. This reduces the cost of living, reduces the need for welfare, and increases tax revenue. In all things, I respect your right to choose your own values. Government should protect the rights of each individual, not try to remake them. I'm fed up with politicians who hijack the public good for their personal moral or social agenda. |
