What is the Political Courage Test?

Georgia Congressional Election 2016 Political Courage Test

Pro-life Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
I was sickened by the videos I saw about how Planned Parenthood ended the lives of the defenseless unborn babies and then sold their body parts to the highest bidder. I am 100% pro-life because in the Bible there is a passage that says that God does not approve of the shedding of innocent blood. Babies are innocent and should not be murdered in the womb. I have demonstrated in my personal and public life with the choices I have made that I am pro-life.
No In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing defense spending?
No In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
The budget can be easily balanced when the federal government stops sending money to the states to influence what they do and giving away money to our enemies in foreign countries. The current tax system is being used as a means of controlling individuals and companies. This is wrong and unconstitutional. I support reforming the tax code so that taxes are kept low and fair. The tax code should not be used to control people. I support a low and proportional tax for individuals and corporations. When taxes are lower across the board, people will have an incentive to work.
Yes Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
I do not solicit campaign donations because there is a cycle from campaign contributions to government money and favors being given in return, then back to the campaign contributions. I want no part of that. If people do their research, they will find that I am free because I refuse to solicit donations and I do not sponsor events. I am not part of the money cycle so I am free to read the laws and vote for freedom each time.
Yes Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes?
Yes Do you support alternatives to incarceration for certain non-violent offenders such as mandatory counseling or substance abuse treatment?
No Do you support mandatory minimum sentences for non-violent drug offenders?
We are a nation of laws, the laws must be clear and enforced well for our nation to be free, peaceful and prosperous.
No Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes Do you support lowering taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
No Do you support providing tax incentives to businesses for the purpose of job creation?
All taxes should be low and fair. We need to make sure that there is equal protection under the law, and that includes the tax code. No favoritism. No crony-capitalism. Just freedom.
No Do you support requiring states to implement education reforms in order to be eligible for competitive federal grants?
The federal government is firmly in control of education. This must stop. There should be no federal department of education. There should be no education grants, they are only being used as a means to control the schools. The data collection that is required with these grants violates all we hold dear.
Yes Do you support building the Keystone XL pipeline?
No Do you support funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, thermal)?
No Do you support increased regulations on the hydraulic fracturing ("fracking") industry?
Funding for the development of renewable energy needs to come from those who will profit from it. That is the way America works. The government should not be funding these projects because when they do, most of the money gets wasted and progress is not made. If you want to invent something, you should have to find investors who believe that you can do it. Then, they can provide the money necessary for the development of something great. The government has shown that is not going to be successful because the profit motive is removed when money flows freely.
No Do you believe that human activity is contributing to climate change?
No Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
95% of the greenhouse gasses are water vapor. Is the government going to tell us we can't boil water? Will they stop evaporation? Carbon dioxide makes plants grow larger and faster. Plants need carbon dioxide. What we have is "political" science that is being used to make people afraid of something that is not even scientific, or real. Global warming is the direct result of increased activity on the sun. We have real environmental problems that need to be addressed: toxic chemicals being dumped, our military getting sick from burn pits they were forced to guard during the Iraq war.
No Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
The 2nd Amendment is very important. In a free country such as ours, we need to be able to defend our lives and our property. Communist and totalitarian countries favor gun control. I do not. I will work to protect our 2nd Amendment and our right to own and carry guns, as well as purchase ammunition. It is part of what makes us free.
Yes Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
Yes, it is very important to repeal Obamacare. The federal government does not have the right to mandate the purchase of insurance. It is a tax and I will not vote to fund it. I will work to repeal it. We need to bring back our charity hospitals and all the good that we as Americans have done in our country and around the world taking care of patients out of our own generosity and free will, cheerfully, because we care for others. We cannot leave this important duty to care for the sick to an ineffective government program.
Yes Do you support requiring illegal immigrants to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
It is the duty of Congress to set uniform rules for naturalization. These rules need to be followed. If we do not follow these rules we will not be able to secure our borders and we will no longer have a country. If one person can break the rules, why shouldn't everybody be able to break them? If we don't enforce our laws, we will have chaos. Nobody wants chaos.
No Do you support same-sex marriage?
I support the Biblical principle of marriage between one man and one woman. Anything else goes against the laws of nature. These issues should be decided at the state level, not by the Supreme Court or the federal government.
Yes Do you support targeting suspected terrorists outside of official theaters of conflict?
Should the U.S use military force in order to prevent governments hostile to the United States from possessing a nuclear weapon?
There are too many variables for me to answer yes or no to the second question because the type or scope of the military force is not specified. I would need more information to make an informed decision on the use of military force. I will always seek diplomacy first. If military force is needed to keep us safe, I support the use of the military. Having accurate intelligence is the key.
Yes Do you support allowing individuals to divert a portion of their Social Security taxes into personal retirement accounts?
The federal government has not been a good steward of the Social Security taxes to say the least. Personal retirement accounts are preferable because the government has not been trustworthy. Those who have paid into the system their entire lives need to reap the benefits. Those who have not paid into the system should not be reaping the benefits. It should be optional.

Shut down all unconstitutional federal agencies.
I started reading state and federal legislation as a member of the Fayette County School board. Most of the federal laws passed in the last 12 years are not appropriate in a free country such as ours. I am running to repeal bad laws, end the federal debt because the money is being used to bribe the states, and reign in the overreach of the executive and judicial branches. If you want someone in D.C. who will objectively read the laws and vote no when they take away your freedom, then please cast your vote for me, Mary Kay Bacallao.
