The Constitution of Montana says that the State will fund the basic K-12 education of its citizens. That needs to start soon, we are no where neear that level now.
I do not belive in "sin" taxes. Don't punish the consumer of energy at the pump, but tax the energy producers. They'll pass the costs down. WE must get government spending under control.

a) Do you support limits on the following types of contributions for state candidates?

Yes 1) Individual
Yes 2) Political Action Committee

Yes c) Do you support requiring full and timely disclosure of campaign finance information?
No d) Do you support the use of an independent AND/OR bipartisan commission for redistricting?
Yes e) Do you support requiring a government-issued photo identification in order to vote at the polls?
The corruption in government starts with our election financing. I believe that anything given to politicians and candidates constitutes a bribe. A luncheon, a teddybear, a junket provided by a business are all example of bribes. They all pressure a person to vote a certain way. It's a bribe. Take one or give one you should be headed to jail. There has been no money in my campaign.
Yes a) Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes?
Yes b) Do you support alternatives to incarceration for certain non-violent offenders, such as mandatory counseling or substance abuse treatment?

No e) Should a minor who sends sexually-explicit or nude photos by cell phone face criminal charges?
Yes f) Do you support the enforcement of federal immigration laws by state and local police?
No g) Do you support increased driving regulations?
Let's put as much enforcement into white collar crime, as we have into the "war" drugs. We'll change our economy. Weneed alternatives to jail for sometypes of crime. We cannot afford the incarcerated population we have now. How about more emphasis on restitution.

No e) Do you support government spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes f) Do you support providing direct financial assistance to homeowners facing foreclosure?
Yes g) Do you support an increase of the minimum wage?
If the Federal Government had bailed out the morgage holders, instead of the banks, we would have had less debt, and a shorter, less intense recession. We need serious reregulation of banks and the markets. But those are federal issues, I don't believe that should happen at the state level.
No a) Do you support the national Common Core State Standards initiative?
No b) Do you support a merit pay system for teachers?
No c) Is the tenure process for public school teachers producing effective teachers?

No e) Do you support state funding for charter schools?
Yes f) Do you support the state government providing college students with financial aid?
No g) Should illegal immigrants who graduate from Montana high schools be eligible for in-state tuition at public universities?
Sending education funds to non-public schools is not going to improve education in our state. We have enough evidence that education for profit doesn't improve educational outcomes. Look to top rated schools like Corvallis. See what they are doing and work to get other schools to follow that model.
No a) Do you support state funding for the development of alternative energy?
No b) Do you support state funding for the development of traditional domestic energy sources (e.g. coal, natural gas, oil)?
No c) Do you support state funding for improvements to Montana's energy infrastructure?
No d) Do you support state funding for open space preservation?
No e) Do you support government regulations of greenhouse gas emissions?
If the energy source is viable entrepreneurs will develope it. The state should make sure the energy monopolies do not stifle this process.
No a) Do you support restrictions on the purchase and possession of guns?
No b) Should background checks be required on gun sales between private citizens at gun shows?
Yes c) Should citizens be allowed to carry concealed guns?

No e) Do you support requiring individuals to purchase health care insurance?
No f) Do you support monetary limits on damages that can be collected in malpractice lawsuits?
Yes g) Do you support allowing doctors to prescribe marijuana to their patients for medicinal purposes?
Our health care system is in serious trouble. The system is failing. I believe the uproar about "obamacare" is a strawman to keep citizens at each others throats about who is going to pay. The real issues is why is our health care the most expensive in the world and far from the best anymore? This is what our discussions should be focused on.
Yes a) Do you support same-sex marriage?
Yes b) Should same-sex couples be allowed to form civil unions?
Yes c) Do you support the inclusion of sexual orientation in Montana's anti-discrimination laws?
Yes d) Do you support the inclusion of gender identity in Montana's anti-discrimination laws?
All should have their rights potected equally.
Education: available for all, K-12 to post-secondary. Ending bureaucratic legislation: If a citizen is to be fined, jailed, denied access, or "regulated" in any way: it will be by laws passed by the legislature and not by regulations isssued from a bureaucrat.
