Albert McDaniel has provided voters with clear stances on key issues by responding to the 2016 Political Courage Test.

| Yes | h) Do you support the prohibition of public funds for organizations that perform abortions? | ||
| Public money absolutely should never be used to fund the murder of a baby. Some of that money collected by taxation is provided by Christians who oppose abortion on a theological level. Many Christians and others will not want to be drawn into this sin of murdering babies, which is not the purpose of government. Search "Bible Molech" to learn how YHVH judges child sacrifice. | |||

| Charity should be administered by charitable organizations and churches, but never by government. Spending public money carries an inherent fiduciary duty to maximize return and not frivolously waste available resources. Too many times government employees will build empires around themselves with public money and hide behind the bureaucracy they create until retirement. I strongly favor using private sector over wasteful government agencies. I have witnessed Texas State employees flashing badges while carrying out their own personal vendettas. | |||
| Throwing money at these has not helped in the past, or our education wouldn't be ranked so pathetically low. Solutions are readily available, but they aren't being sought out. Since I am a licensed Professional Engineer, I would especially be interested in learning why so many obstacles are cemented in our way. What is the primary objective of the bureaucrats designing our highways-roads-streets-curbs? It can't be smooth traffic flow. | |||
| If you're still smoking, then you're 2 stupid 2 matter. You don't care about your health or how offensive you are to others, so I am agreeable to make it cost you more. Smoking is the only instance I would burden with higher taxes. Smoking is an offensive choice and not a necessity. | |||

| Yes | c) Do you support requiring full and timely disclosure of campaign finance information? | ||
| No | d) Do you support the use of an independent AND/OR bipartisan commission for redistricting? | ||
| Yes | e) Do you support requiring a government-issued photo identification in order to vote at the polls? | ||
| For decades, democrats have run redistricting because the majority party got to decide redistricting. Now that dems are not in charge, they are whining about it being unfair. Was it unfair all those decades when they called the shots? Shut up and sit down. I favor reduced government intrusion, but a completely unrelated concern is voter fraud. I've been an election judge many times and have never had a problem related to a voter providing an ID. I favor legitimate honest elections. Why would anyone allow for voter fraud? | |||
| Yes | a) Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes? | ||
| Yes | b) Do you support alternatives to incarceration for certain non-violent offenders, such as mandatory counseling or substance abuse treatment? | ||
| Yes | c) Do you support legalizing the possession of small amounts of marijuana? | ||
| Yes | d) Should a minor accused of a violent crime be prosecuted as an adult? | ||
| Yes | e) Do you support the enforcement of federal immigration laws by state and local police? | ||
| Yes | f) Do you support delaying the seizure of assets by law enforcement officials until after a conviction? | ||
| question "e" is confusing because whatever immigration laws once existed have been abolished by our fraud of a president. He has invited muslim criminals and all those who hate us to freely walk in. As a general policy, I always favor State Rights, but the 1 legitimate function of the federal govt it to protect our borders. If bo won't do it, Texas should. | |||
| Yes | a) Do you support government spending as a means of promoting economic growth? | ||
| Yes | b) Do you support lowering taxes as a means of promoting economic growth? | ||
| Yes | c) Do you support reducing government regulations on the private sector? | ||
| Yes | d) Do you support increased state funding for job-training programs that re-train displaced workers? | ||
| No | e) Do you support expanding access to unemployment benefits? | ||
| Yes | f) Do you support requiring welfare applicants to pass a drug test in order to receive benefits? | ||
| Yes | g) Do you support providing financial incentives to the private sector for the purpose of job creation? | ||
| Yes | h) Do you support providing direct financial assistance to homeowners facing foreclosure? | ||
| No | i) Do you support an increase of the minimum wage? | ||
| Yes | j) Should employers be able to ask about applicants' criminal history before interviewing them? | ||
| I am named after Albert Gallatin, and I understand the influence government should have on economic growth. What govt has been done to our US Dollar and our economy is criminal. I do not see anyone on the horizon brave enough to do what is required to correct the sabotage of past administrations, meaning that Texas will need to be as wise as Joseph. Minimum Wage should not be regulated by politicians or bureaucrats. It should not be regarded as a living wage. We used to have sackboys and full service gas stations. Now we have thugs in gangs. | |||
| No | a) Do you support the national Common Core State Standards initiative? | ||
| Yes | b) Do you support a merit pay system for teachers? | ||
| No | c) Is the tenure process for public school teachers producing effective teachers? | ||
| Yes | d) Should parents be allowed to use vouchers to send their children to any school? | ||
| Yes | e) Do you support state funding for charter schools? | ||
| Yes | f) Do you support the state government providing college students with financial aid? | ||

| Yes | b) Do you support state funding for the development of traditional domestic energy sources (e.g. coal, natural gas, oil)? | ||
| Yes | c) Do you support state funding for improvements to Texas's energy infrastructure? | ||
| Yes | d) Do you support state funding for open space preservation? | ||
| No | e) Do you support government regulations of greenhouse gas emissions? | ||
| No | f) Do you support increased regulations of the hydraulic fracturing ("fracking") industry? | ||
| I'm a Petroleum Engineer and licensed Professional Engineer, so I know a lot about these topics. I would know how hydraulic fracturing should be regulated, but politicians / lawyers don't. For the past 3 years, I have helped sponsor booths at EarthDay Texas. Question "a" needs to include Hydrogen Energy utilizing wind and solar to split water molecules. H2 is a legitimate "green" energy whereas Ethanol is a boondoggle. Ethanol subsidies should be eliminated. It is time for Ethanol to stand on its own without tax dollars. This is what happens when lawyers play scientist. | |||
| No | a) Do you generally support gun-control legislation? | ||
| Yes | b) Should background checks be required on gun sales between private citizens at gun shows? | ||
| Yes | c) Should citizens be allowed to carry concealed guns? | ||
| Yes | d) Do you support allowing concealed carry on public college campuses in Texas? | ||
| No | d) Should a license be required for gun possession? | ||
| Guns don't kill. | |||
| No | a) Do you support a universally-accessible, publicly-administered health insurance option? | ||
| Yes | b) Do you support expanding access to health care through commercial health insurance reform? | ||
| Yes | c) Do you support interstate health insurance compacts? | ||
| No | d) Do you support Medicaid expansion under the Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")? | ||

| Yes | f) Do you support monetary limits on damages that can be collected in malpractice lawsuits? | ||
| Yes | g) Do you support allowing doctors to prescribe marijuana to their patients for medicinal purposes? | ||
| I assume "publicly-administered" means government. Government never handles anything efficiently, so let industry handle Health Insurance. It is too complex for Government. | |||
| No | a) Do you support same-sex marriage? | ||
| No | b) Do you support the inclusion of sexual orientation in Texas's anti-discrimination laws? | ||
| No | c) Do you support the inclusion of gender identity in Texas's anti-discrimination laws? | ||
| Most of us were either male or female at birth. | |||
| I would implement a strategy to deal with urban blight. Many neighborhoods in my district need attention. I won't kick the can like my predecessors have. I am sick of the lies and deception. There are too many secrets being withheld from the public by those in power. Either that, or they're too stupid to recognize the times we are living in. Our federal government is out of control and needs to be reigned in. Texas should lead the way. Texas public education is a failure. Whoever is in charge must be fired. I would fix education if allowed to. |
