David Williams III has provided voters with clear stances on key issues by responding to the 2016 Political Courage Test.
| Yes | In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing defense spending? | ||
| No | In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket? | ||
| Yes | Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions? | ||
| The employees/laborers money should not be used to fund any political campaign. That's their money from their pension or Social Security savings. Individual(s) are welcome to donate to who they wish on their own time. | |||
| Yes | Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes? | ||
| Yes | Do you support alternatives to incarceration for certain non-violent offenders such as mandatory counseling or substance abuse treatment? | ||
| No | Do you support mandatory minimum sentences for non-violent drug offenders? | ||
| No | Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth? | ||
| Yes | Do you support lowering taxes as a means of promoting economic growth? | ||
| Yes | Do you support providing tax incentives to businesses for the purpose of job creation? | ||
| Tax incentives to those who keep their jobs from going overseas and hire Americans (not prison labor) | |||
| No | Do you support requiring states to implement education reforms in order to be eligible for competitive federal grants? | ||
| Yes | Do you support building the Keystone XL pipeline? | ||
| Yes | Do you support funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, thermal)? | ||
| Yes | Do you support increased regulations on the hydraulic fracturing ("fracking") industry? | ||
| Yes | Do you believe that human activity is contributing to climate change? | ||
| No | Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions? | ||
| Taxing Americans for the air they breathe will not stop climate change. Common sense and education from birth to death through the schools will. We're stewards of this planet, we should take care of it naturally with out government telling us to do so. | |||
| No | Do you generally support gun-control legislation? | ||
| If you have mental health issue proven by a doctor, a felon who has committed a serious crime as rape, incest, murder and or any other crime with a possession of a gun, those limitations I support. | |||
| Yes | Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")? | ||
| Affordable Care Act (ACA), has had, and will have only negative effects on the American working class with increased insurance premiums & raised payroll taxes, complicated the health care system for hospitals, infringed on personal rights of healthcare choice by mandating health insurance for everyone, forces workers to work part-time hours and massive layoffs. As an alternative to Obamacare, the implementation of CARE clinics for the poor can handle their medical needs, and allowing insurance across state lines for those who can afford it. Thus driving down the cost of care, giving the consumer free rein of choice. | |||
| No | Do you support requiring illegal immigrants to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship? | ||
| The number one priority is to secure the U.S. borders with U.S. Military presences. However, I do believe in giving immigrants who contribute through their labor a path to legalization by means of a work visa program and being able to maintain financial stability before bringing their family into the U.S, acquiring higher education through the means of a study visa, or voluntary U.S Military service. The illegal?s who do not contribute will be cut off from welfare and deported. | |||
| Yes | Do you support same-sex marriage? | ||
| I'm not running for office to pry into the sex life of consenting adults. I do believe in the church having the say if they wish to marry same sex couples or not - protecting religious freedoms while allowing freedom to be with who you chose. | |||
| Yes | Do you support targeting suspected terrorists outside of official theaters of conflict? | ||
| No | Should the U.S use military force in order to prevent governments hostile to the United States from possessing a nuclear weapon? | ||
| Diplomacy always works well. Unless there is an imminent proven threat to the U.S then we must defend ourselves. | |||
| Yes | Do you support allowing individuals to divert a portion of their Social Security taxes into personal retirement accounts? | ||
| I'm in favor of allowing the States to fund the program as they do with welfare. He also favors an opt in/out option. | |||

| I support the Fair Tax, the IRS would be replaced (after 3 years) with the Excise Tax Bureau and a Sales Tax Bureau. The Fair Tax is a 23% national sales tax on all new goods and services. It would replace the federal income tax, payroll, corporate tax, etc. The plan will give the taxpayer full control over his/her taxes, and relieve the overall burden that the income tax has placed on all Americans. | |||
