| No | b) Should abortions be illegal after the first trimester of pregnancy? | ||
| No | c) Should abortion be legal when the pregnancy resulted from incest or rape? | ||
| Yes | d) Should abortion be legal when the life of the woman is endangered? | ||
| Yes | e) Do you support requiring parental notification before an abortion is performed on a minor? | ||
| No | f) Do you support requiring parental consent before an abortion is performed on a minor? | ||
| Yes | g) Do you support the prohibition of public funds for abortion procedures? | ||
| Yes | h) Do you support the prohibition of public funds for organizations that perform abortions? | ||
| I believe that this procedure should be legally available anytime a woman's doctor deems it medically necessary. I would like to see more public funds go into age appropriate education. The way to reduce the numbers of abortions is not by making it illegal but in educating people about birth control options and the benefits of abstinence. | |||

| Yes | a) Tapping into Oklahoma's "rainy day" fund | ||
| No | b) Increasing tuition rates at public universities | ||
| No | c) Reducing or eliminating public worker collective bargaining | ||
| No | d) Reducing state employee salaries AND/OR pensions | ||
| No | e) Instituting mandatory furloughs AND/OR layoffs for state employees | ||
| No | f) Reducing benefits for Medicaid recipients | ||
| This is my initial impression of these categories. I think our education system needs to be audited, we legalized the lottery in Oklahoma to save our schools yet state funding has gone down? I also think we need to make changes to our welfare system. It isn't working. I am for state funded, random drug testing to receive welfare benefits. | |||
| Each agency needs to be evaluated for efficiency. I believe some jobs could be eliminated as employees quit or retire. They could also be moved to other areas within other government agencies. If there is room for furloughs and layoffs, there are obviously too many employees? We need to find out why. | |||
a) Do you support limits on the following types of contributions for state candidates?

| Yes | d) Do you support the use of an independent AND/OR bipartisan commission for redistricting? | ||
| No | e) Do you support requiring a government-issued photo identification in order to vote at the polls? | ||
| Government issued IDs cost money, people shouldn't have to make a financial investment to vote. | |||
| Yes | a) Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes? | ||
| Yes | b) Do you support alternatives to incarceration for certain non-violent offenders, such as mandatory counseling or substance abuse treatment? | ||
| No | c) Do you support decriminalizing the possession of small amounts of marijuana? | ||
| No | d) Should a minor accused of a violent crime be prosecuted as an adult? | ||
| Yes | e) Should a minor who sends sexually-explicit or nude photos by cell phone face criminal charges? | ||
| Yes | f) Do you support the enforcement of federal immigration laws by state and local police? | ||
| Non-prescription drugs should either be legal or illegal, "small amounts" seems vague. If a minor is nude in public it would be addressed, nude pictures need to be addressed as well. | |||
| Yes | a) Do you support reducing government regulations on the private sector? | ||
| Yes | b) Do you support increased state funding for job-training programs that re-train displaced workers? | ||
| No | c) Do you support expanding access to unemployment benefits? | ||
| Yes | d) Do you support providing financial incentives to the private sector for the purpose of job creation? | ||

| No | f) Do you support providing direct financial assistance to homeowners facing foreclosure? | ||
| No | g) Do you support funding for renovations of the State Capitol complex through bonds? | ||
| I always believe in education. Teaching people new skills is always better than extending unemployment benefits. Infastructure projects should have longer term goals, like making some of our rural communities more accessible and therefore more attractive to new businesses. | |||
| Yes | a) Do you support the national Common Core State Standards initiative? | ||
| Yes | b) Do you support a merit pay system for teachers? | ||
| No | c) Is the tenure process for public school teachers producing effective teachers? | ||
| No | d) Should parents be allowed to use vouchers to send their children to any school? | ||
| No | e) Do you support state funding for charter schools? | ||
| Yes | f) Do you support the state government providing college students with financial aid? | ||
| No | g) Should illegal immigrants who graduate from Oklahoma high schools be eligible for in-state tuition at public universities? | ||
| h) Other or expanded principles: | |||
| Yes | a) Do you support state funding for the development of alternative energy? | ||
| Yes | b) Do you support state funding for the development of traditional domestic energy sources (e.g. coal, natural gas, oil)? | ||
| Yes | c) Do you support increased regulations to hydraulic fracturing or "fracking"? | ||
| Yes | d) Do you support state funding for improvements to Oklahoma's energy infrastructure? | ||
| No | e) Should the state of Oklahoma support the development of natural gas-powered vehicles and infrastructure? | ||
| Yes | f) Do you support state funding for open space preservation? | ||
| Yes | g) Do you support enacting environmental regulations aimed at reducing the effects of climate change? | ||
| I think states should explore options that would be better for the environment and help with energy increases. But there needs to be a time frame established to determine effectiveness. If it isn't working, funding stops. We need to be willing to try new things, but also responsible with tax payers money. | |||
| No | a) Do you support restrictions on the purchase and possession of guns? | ||
| Yes | b) Should background checks be required on gun sales between private citizens at gun shows? | ||
| Yes | c) Should citizens be allowed to carry concealed guns? | ||
| Yes | d) Should a license be required for gun possession? | ||
| Licensing and safety training are key for gun ownership. I am not in favor of the soon to be introduced open carry law. | |||
| No | a) Do you support a universally-accessible, publicly-administered health insurance option? | ||
| Yes | b) Do you support expanding access to health care through commercial health insurance reform? | ||
| Yes | c) Do you support interstate health insurance compacts? | ||
| Yes | d) Do you support requiring individuals to purchase health care insurance? | ||
| Yes | e) Do you support monetary limits on damages that can be collected in malpractice lawsuits? | ||
| Yes | f) Do you support allowing doctors to prescribe marijuana to their patients for medicinal purposes? | ||
| I don't think the government has the capabilities to publicly-administer a health insurance program. If they did, medicare and medicaid would be more widely accepted by doctors. And the threat of cutting costs for them wouldn't be debated by our presidential nominees. We do need more accessible and affordable healthcare for EVERYONE! | |||
| Yes | a) Should marriage only be between one man and one woman? | ||
| Yes | b) Should same-sex couples be allowed to form civil unions? | ||
| Yes | c) Do you support the inclusion of sexual orientation in Oklahoma's anti-discrimination laws? | ||
| Yes | d) Do you support the inclusion of gender identity in Oklahoma's anti-discrimination laws? | ||
| e) Other or expanded principles: | |||
| The improvement of education and our economy our my main objectives. We need more new business in our state, we have so many assets in Oklahoma already. But employers want good schools and good infrastructure, improving these two things and using incentive programs we already have could do so much for Oklahoma. Assets I am referring to for job creation and growth are HUB zones, career tech centers, CORD, etc. I don't believe they are being promoted enough. |
