Global climate change is an existential threat that must be addressed with immediate and decisive action, including completely transitioning from fossil fuels to renewable energy and investing in known strategies that increase drawdown of greenhouse gases.

I support a ban on assault-style weapons, high-capacity magazines, bump stocks, and any other modifications that turn firearms into killing machines. I will work to institute universal background checks, close the gun show loophole, enact safe storage and red flag legislation, and hold manufacturers responsible under consumer protection laws, for harm caused by product malfunctions.

I support HR 676, the Expanded and Improved Medicare for All Act as the best option for guaranteeing universal healthcare, as a right. The ACA should be continued until HR 676 becomes law. Interim measures that I support include empowering Medicare to procure pharmaceuticals and sunlight (disclosure) laws on the agreements between providers and insurers.

I believe that U.S. military intervention should be the measure of last resort. I support prioritizing and investing in diplomacy first and seeking solutions that preserve and protect human lives.
My top priorities are economic, social, and environmental justice. These are interconnected concerns, rooted in Human Rights. Addressing wealth inequality and the subsequent hardships experienced by working families and our most vulnerable citizens is of paramount importance to me. Policy-making in the U.S. is heavily influenced by corporate lobbyists, resulting in legislation that expands and protects the wealthiest Americans, at the expense of the vast majority of us. I will work to end the outsized influence of money in our democratic processes so that representatives are accountable to the people, not their donors.
