| According to Ohio.gov the State of Ohio bureaucracy has over 155 Agencies. Many of these Ohio agencies are outdated, redundant or overlap the functions of other agencies. I believe Ohio should eliminate, combine or reduce these unnecessary agencies just like private industry downsizes during tough times. | |||

| More should be done to accommodate Ohio's independent /non-party candidates such as requiring fewer signatures on nominating petitions. Also independent candidates should be allowed to have the word "Independent" appear under their name on the ballot instead of being limited to "Non-party candidate" or having nothing appear under their name. | |||

| Drivers caught driving with a suspended license, especially those with multiple suspensions, should be given much harsher penalties including jail time. To me drivers with suspended licenses are just as dangerous on the road as someone with a weapon. | |||

For example I think unemployment benefits should scale down near the end of a claim to discourage workers from trying to collect all of their benefits before returning to work. Also, I see how the passenger rail service could work for certain locations such as Riverside but I am still not fully convinced it will be successful for all of Ohio. I support further investigation and study before anyone gets to vote on passenger rail service for Ohio. | |||

We need to get parents more involved with their child's education. I also believe we cannot just keep throwing money at this issue thinking that will solve the problems of education. If elected I will propose that all school levies must be explained in detail so tax payers can decide if the are truly necessary. | |||

| I don't approve of state funds going to fund any kind of research. Too often these research dollars are wasted while they should be going to things more appropriate for taxpayer dollars. Plus why should Ohio taxpayers take the risk when someone else gets the rewards. Leave research to the private industry. I am very reluctant to expand anti-discrimination laws because I believe they are often misused to bring lawsuits upon Ohio's employers. | |||
| I believe Ohio?s budget deficit is a job killing cloud of uncertainty that hangs over all of Ohio. If Ohio is ever going to become more attractive to employers we MUST balance our budget as soon as possible and we must do so WITHOUT ANY INCREASES IN TAXES. In my opinion NO COMPANY is going to build a factory, expand a business, buy equipment or increase employment until they know for certain that Ohio is NOT going to slap them with tax increases. Next we need to figure out how other states steal our jobs and then copy their methods. |
