| Police officers need to be able to freely perform their duties in order to protect our society. Making them personally liable for making split second decisions has negative effects that we are already seeing like 1) police not taking risks to avoid entanglements which increases crime. We are already seeing this additional crime in the City of Baltimore where officials do not have support officers. 2) Further diminishing the ability of law enforcement to recruit good candidates. As a Delegate, I voted against HB 670 which removed Maryland's Law Enforcement Officers Bill of Rights. | |||

| I believe that every business is an essential business. None of them should have been shut down during the spread of Covid-19. A study by Johns Hopkins University showed that closing businesses did nothing to stop the spread of the disease, but just resulted in harm to owners, workers, and citizens while stripping their rights away. I joined Delegate Dan Cox to sue the state of Maryland to force the state to open businesses and churches. Having said this, the government shut down those entities and owes them to fix a portion of the financial damage that they unnecessarily caused. | |||

| Funding for renewable energy should be limited and come from the Federal Government as grants that can be used by Universities or non-profit organizations. With regard to greenhouse gas emissions, regulation is needed, but the amount of regulation currently imposed by the Federal Government on the states seems excessive at this time. The primary world polluter is China. They dump over 96% more plastic into the ocean than the US and contribute the largest percentage of the worlds CO2. Given that, the US should not sacrifice through over-regulation our manufacturing jobs to countries that do not have effective environmental laws. | |||

| Access to firearms is guaranteed by the 2nd Amendment. Our country has a violence epidemic. A major cause of the problem is that we no longer adequately treat the mentally ill as we should. Instead, they often live untreated until they commit an act of violence. Jails have been turned into our new insane asylums. Our jails should be for the career criminals who terrorize our communities. | |||

Lack of immigration enforcement and a porous southern border have led to suffering from gangs like MS 13 who terrorize our District, opioid and fentanyl deaths, and increased human trafficking. Sanctuary cities need to be stopped, the border wall needs to be constructed, and companies who take advantage of illegal aliens should be heavily fined. | |||

| Decisions made by Congress affect your job, your family, and your wallet every day. As a husband and father of three children, I am working hard in Annapolis to protect our freedoms. Now I want to take that conservative, common-sense philosophy to Congress. I want to help fully fund the border wall, to enforce our immigration laws, to defund Planned Parenthood, to work to preserve our 2nd Amendment Rights, to return health care to the free market, and to help people go from welfare to work. I want to help hard-working families be able to keep more of their money. |
