| Yes | g) Do you support sexual education programs that include information on abstinence, contraceptives, and HIV/STD prevention methods? | ||
| Yes | h) Do you support abstinence-only sexual education programs? | ||
| a) This heated issue is a woman's decision though I am more towards the pro-life side, I'm not an extremist. Too complicated to just answer in a brief statement especially from a philosophical and physics standpoint. g) If this is performed by a qualified medical licensed expert and not some educator who has no medical training. This also requires parental consent. h) Same explanation I gave for g). | |||

| Everything marked is all fraught with wasted tax dollars. They can be performed more efficiently to save money. a)-b) More extensive background checking is needed on educator recruitment like being bonded and fingerprinted into a database. Only way they'll weed out the bad teachers before hiring. Promotions should be from within the district not outside the state. Same should be true for law enforcement (e). I really have too much to add to this in the word limit given here for all the issues. I just gave some insight as an example. Visit me for more information on the issues. | |||
| I believe maintaining status of taxes and cutting out the wasteful spending on projects that should've been privatized in the first place like places of entertainment and recreation. a),b), & g) mostly hurt the low income families and poor. The huge corporations are the only beneficiaries of this. Even in the tobacco lawsuit, they only turned around and increased their prices on all their products. None of the lawsuit came out of their own pockets. We must realize that big tobacco also owns food and drug companies so we all lose really. Again word limit here makes this too concise. | |||
| a) Only as a last resort. b) Only question here I have is how do we view drug users who are non-violent, embezzlers, and white collar crimes?? c) I believe students are always unfairly targeted every time some professor wants to fund his research project with higher tuition even in a good economy. d) We all have to sacrifice whenever necessary. e) Half the people receiving it are using it as the new welfare. Too involved to answer this completely here. Visit me for more info. f) I consider medicaid as a government service as well. Again visit me. | |||
c) Do you support limits on the following types of contributions to candidates for state government?

| Yes | 4) Political Party | ||
| Yes | d) Should candidates for state office be encouraged to meet voluntary spending limits? | ||
| Yes | e) Do you support requiring full and timely disclosure of campaign finance information? | ||
| I'm a conservative independent riding a campaign with no money. Both my wife and I are disabled, retired, and know more what sacrifice is than any of these professionals. Living within our means of just Social Security and Medicare, we get nothing else and have had no tax breaks at all with any improvements we make to our property. With the mortgage, our debt is close to one hundred thousand. I run for the people not my pocket. Both major political parties run with the adage: party first, constituency second. I hate that. | |||
| Yes | a) Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes? | ||
| Yes | b) Do you support alternatives to incarceration for certain non-violent offenders, such as mandatory counseling or substance abuse treatment? | ||
| Yes | c) Should the possession of small amounts of marijuana be decriminalized? | ||
| Yes | d) Should a minor accused of a violent crime be prosecuted as an adult? | ||
| Yes | e) Should a minor who sends sexually-explicit or nude photos by cell phone face criminal charges? | ||
| No | f) Do you support a ban on smoking in restaurants and bars? | ||
| Yes | g) Should the state regulate commercial pet breeders? | ||
| Yes | h) Do you support the enforcement of federal immigration laws by state and local police? | ||
| f) Only one I answered no to. This is a constitutional dilemma but we have allowed big business to take control of this issue. If restaurants can serve alcohol in front of our children and not have a separate smoking area, then it's socialistic and dictatorial telling adults what they can and cannot do with their lives. It's also hypocritical to think serving alcohol is any better. I'm sure they won't even consider smokers only restaurants either which makes this so ridiculous. Where's the equality in this issue? Either ban both or not either one. | |||
| Yes | a) Do you support reducing government regulations on the private sector? | ||
| Yes | b) Do you support increased state funding for job-training programs that re-train displaced workers? | ||
| Yes | c) Do you support expanding access to unemployment benefits? | ||
| Yes | d) Do you support providing financial incentives to the private sector for the purpose of job creation? | ||
| Yes | e) Do you support increased spending on infrastructure projects for the purpose of job creation? | ||
| Yes | f) Do you support providing direct financial assistance to homeowners facing foreclosure? | ||
| a) With some reservations because some private sectors tend to get greedy instead of helping the economy. Instead of re-investing, they ended up hoarding the extra money. The bailouts were a good example. b) If the funding is there, I support it. c) Access should be in person though. No internet access as it constitutes the strong possibility of easy fraud. f) These homeowners should also be ordered into home mortgage financial counseling as the majority of them were taken advantage of not fully understanding what an ARM can really do to their budget. There are no free lunches. | |||
| Yes | a) Do you support national education standards? | ||
| Yes | b) Do you support requiring public schools to administer high school exit exams? | ||
| No | c) Do you support using a merit pay system for teachers? | ||
| Yes | d) Do you support state funding for charter schools? | ||
| No | e) Do you support the state government providing college students with financial aid? | ||
| No | f) Should illegal immigrants who graduate from Oklahoma high schools be eligible for in-state tuition at public universities? | ||
| Yes | g) Should public schools be required to ascertain and report the immigration status of students to the state? | ||
| c) It doesn't work if the students' parents are not involved. To hold teachers accountable for students who refuse to learn is unfair to a teacher's real merit plus some students would then use this to control their teachers. e) There is already federal financial aid and that's government enough. f) Illegal immigrants shouldn't even be using our educational resources in the first place. They're bleeding the very social system that was meant to help our Americans. g) All illegals should be reported to INS. Very sensitive to me as my father didn't get preferential treatment. | |||
| Yes | a) Do you support state funding for the development of alternative energy? | ||
| Yes | b) Do you support state funding for the development of traditional domestic energy sources (e.g. coal, natural gas, oil)? | ||
| Yes | c) Do you support providing financial incentives to farms that produce biofuel crops? | ||
| Yes | d) Do you support state funding for improvements to Oklahoma's energy infrastructure? | ||
| Yes | e) Do you support state funding for open space preservation? | ||
| Yes | f) Do you support enacting environmental regulations aimed at reducing the effects of climate change? | ||
| All state funding is dependent on how much we can cut out of waste projects, and should have an oversight committee with the constituency involved. The people should have a say in this not just the corporations. People elected to Energy Oversight Committees should be elected at their town council meeting not picked by the State. These people should be the ones whose property is being directly affected by these developments. f) One thing I'd like to see changed is the way we eliminate our trash currently. Landfills are getting out of hand. | |||
| Yes | a) Do you support restrictions on the purchase and possession of guns? | ||
| Yes | b) Do you support requiring background checks on gun sales between private citizens at gun shows? | ||
| Yes | c) Do you support allowing individuals to carry concealed guns? | ||
| Yes | d) Do you support requiring a license for gun possession? | ||
| a) Some people think they need an armory in their house. b) Not just gun shows but somehow we need to look strongly at yard sales. What's the big deal anyway? If you're law abiding, why would this upset you? This would help law enforcement crack down on extremists and mentally despondent individuals acquiring guns illegally. Not perfect but it helps. c) Thought we already allow this? In certain areas of the public like churches, I don't support this. There are other places like churches of high risk concern of a blood battle I wouldn't support on this issue. | |||
| Yes | a) Do you support a universally-accessible, publicly-administered health insurance option? | ||
| Yes | b) Do you support expanding access to health care through commercial health insurance reform? | ||
| Yes | c) Do you support interstate health insurance compacts? | ||
| No | d) Should individuals be required to purchase health care insurance? | ||
| Yes | e) Do you support monetary limits on damages that can be collected in malpractice lawsuits? | ||
| Yes | f) Do you support legalizing physician-assisted suicide in Oklahoma? | ||
| Yes | g) Do you support allowing doctors to prescribe marijuana to their patients for medicinal purposes? | ||
| a) Illegals need not apply period. d) Don't think it should be mandatory. However I see this on a case by case basis adjusted by individual income. I don't care for flat rates especially with health insurance. e) This has to be decided case by case. Some people can be greedy. Compensatory damages I can agree with but not punitive damages. Punitive not only punishes the defendant but everyone. f) Even with support, this will never happen here. Euthanasia with dignity is a fantasy. g) The doctors would have to be monitored. Some doctors doctor themselves as we all know. | |||
| Yes | a) Should marriage only be between one man and one woman? | ||
| No | b) Should Oklahoma allow same-sex couples to form civil unions? | ||
| No | c) Do you support state funding for stem cell research? | ||
| No | d) Do you support state funding for embryonic stem cell research? | ||
| No | e) Do you support the state's use of affirmative action? | ||
| No | f) Do you support the inclusion of sexual orientation in Oklahoma's anti-discrimination laws? | ||
| Yes | g) Do you support the inclusion of gender identity in Oklahoma's anti-discrimination laws? | ||
| a) Heterosexuality=Normal Homosexuality=Abnormal. Enough said. c),d) Don't we already get Federal funding for stem cell research? Enough government involvement there. I support stem cell research but question funding sources in this economy. e) In any arena, qualifications must meet the demand not tokens. It shortchanges everyone in the long run no matter who they are. f) Less than 5% are biologically born homosexual. Don't get me started on this. I'm from a different generation that valued families. | |||
| Disability/Health: Elderly and disabled only get heard by politicians when they're running. I want to work on their issues. I want my constituency to know me, talk to me, and meet who represents them. I'm not party controlled. Transportation: Mass transit needs to be expanded especially in the district I'm running for. I plan on working with both sides of the House to find ways of any funding required especially if we can cut out some recipients who could be privatized. I'd also like to encourage more business development in my district primarily the 75% northeastern part which gets ignored. |
