What is the Political Courage Test?

Missouri Congressional Election 2012 Political Courage Test

Pro-life Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
Yes Do you support United States' combat operations in Afghanistan?
No Do you support a timetable for withdrawal from Afghanistan?
I do not support the current misuse of our military as nation-builders. The mission in Afghanistan is over. The southern border of the US is far more critical to our security. The military should be deployed there and not along the Afghan southern border.

Indicate which proposals you support (if any) for balancing the federal budget. In order to balance the budget,

Yes do you support reducing defense spending?
No do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
Yes do you support reducing Medicaid spending?
Yes do you support reducing Medicare spending?
Yes Is balancing the budget a legislative priority?
The budget can only be balanced if more Americans have good paying jobs. Americans will only have more good paying jobs if the so called "free trade" agreements are repealed and replaced with fair trade agreements. The loss of more than 50 million jobs over the past 50 years because of free trade agreements has nearly destroyed our industrial base. Is it coincidence that nearly 50 million people are on some form of government assistance for basic needs?
No Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
Yes Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes?
No Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
No Do you support providing tax incentives to businesses for the purpose of job creation?
No Do you support spending on infrastructure projects for the purpose of job creation?
No Do you support the temporary extension of unemployment benefits?
Yes Do you support the 2010 temporary extension of tax relief?
I support the repeal of the 16th amendment and the elimination of the federal income tax.
No Do you support requiring states to implement education reforms in order to be eligible for competitive federal grants?
The federal department of education should be eliminated and the funding returned to the states.
Yes Do you support reducing restrictions on offshore energy production?
No Do you believe that human activity is contributing to climate change?
No Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
The EPA should be closed.
No Do you support restrictions on the purchase and possession of guns?
I think the 2nd amendment is clear. A person's right to keep and bear arms "shall not be infringed".
Yes Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act?
No Should individuals be required to purchase health insurance, as mandated in the 2010 Affordable Care Act?
Yes Do you support requiring illegal immigrants to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
No Do you support allowing illegal immigrants, who were brought to the United States as minors, to pursue citizenship without returning to their country of origin?
Yes Do you support the enforcement of federal immigration law by state and local police?
I support funding the law enforcement agencies in order to track and deport illegals here on expired visas. I support defending our southern border with the military. I support deportation of illegals to their country of origin. I support measures to stop the transmission of billions of dollars out of the US by illegals. If it is a crime to hire an illegal and if the illegal cannot send any money out of the US, then they will return to their country of origin on their own.
No Do you support same-sex marriage?
Yes Do you support targeting suspected terrorists outside of official theaters of conflict?
No Should the U.S use military force in order to prevent Iran from possessing a nuclear weapon?
Yes Do you support allowing individuals to divert a portion of their Social Security taxes into personal retirement accounts?
We should amend our Constitution to define exactly what is provided and to whom. I believe a Social Security amendment would pass. We should not continue to tax and spend under the current program which is nothing more than a ponzi scheme. The current program should be ended.
