| Sex-Ed classes and programs in public schools are subjective to teachers who may bring offensive and suggestive concepts into the discussion and/or curriculum. Family values should be a major part of sex education, and could be incorporated into Church and Family instruction. In junior high, we learned of the body functions. Then, in an all-boy class, our PE teacher said "Keep your pants zipped up." There was not doubt as to our expected conduct with regard to girls. Girls and women should be respected. | |||

| Personal Property tax for business & industry. If I use a computer at home for personal business, there is no tax. But, once I use that computer in the business or shop, it becomes taxable each and every year. The same goes for tools and equipment. This is a tax that can be eliminated. Replace it and income taxes with sales tax that is appropriate for State concerns. Some call this a "fair tax." Less taxes always produce a more prosperous economy. Eliminating some taxes will also eliminate bookkeeping and associated expenses. | |||
| I believe that the "rainy day" fund should be at least half of one year's anticipated revenues. The State should encourage a growth of this fund to take care of real emergencies, and use it sparingly. To produce growth in the state gross product, I would encourage "co-op" advertising for resorts and other recreational industries to increase our tourism opportunities. If these enterprises were encouraged to advertise in the larger audience media, and the ads included the Idaho State attractions, we could increase the tourism trade in the state. | |||

| We need to sponsor more town hall meetings in which the public can voice their concerns. As a State Senator, I want to maintain my integrity, but I do not want to vote blindly. I will need input from all sides of the issues that I might face. | |||

| Yes | e) Do you support the state government providing college students with financial aid? | ||
| No | f) Should illegal immigrants who graduate from Idaho high schools be eligible for in-state tuition at public universities? | ||
| We need to reduce operational costs in the schools, and streamline the education budget for increased teacher pay. We need to cut federal mandates, and give the people who pay the taxes more say in the curriculum and design of our schools. Parents should have an active voice in these issues. | |||

| There is a need for development of nuclear power. State funding incentives can come in the form of financial backing of tax-free bonds. The State of Idaho is very dependent on water power. With additional Nuclear Power plants, we could eliminate the amount of water needed for energy production, and release that water for the agriculture needs. Idaho is the birthplace of Nuclear Power. Let's captivate our history. Wind and solar power could also help with the need for power. | |||

| No | g) Do you support allowing doctors to prescribe marijuana to their patients for medicinal purposes? | ||
| The smoking of marijuana affects other people in the near vicinity. If marijuana is truly medicinal, it should only be available in tablet or some other form than through smoking. Tobacco smoke has been shown to be a severe threat to the health of those who are exposed to second-hand smoke. Marijuana should be in some form that could be infused into the patient without polluting the air of those nearby. | |||

| A civil union between consenting adults could be possible within the present laws regulating revocable trusts. Marriage is a traditional basis for families, and should be between one man and one woman. Children grow and mature best into good citizens when the man and the woman take part in their training and up-bringing. Marriage between a man and a woman is the best way to accomplish this. | |||
