Indiana Congressional Election 2014 Political Courage Test

Unknown Position Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
I believe in life. I believe in Liberty.
Yes In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing defense spending?
No In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
The size of this government must be cut. Many departments and programs should be eliminated, Every department head at every level that remains should be required to cut their departments by 20% while providing the same service. If they can't, then their bosses at should be required to assist them. I could move to a position that supported tax increases if we reduced spending. All savings from these efforts should go towards the debt, and returned to the states so long as they can provide evidence they teach the constitution, the bill of rights, and civic responsibility.
Yes Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
This government is for sale, and we must return control to the citizens.
Yes Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes?
No Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes Do you support lowering taxes as a way of promoting growth in the economy?
Yes Do you support providing tax incentives to businesses for the purpose of job creation?
We need jobs. Tax cuts add jobs. I could only support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth, if we were responsible with our money elsewhere. Which we are not.
Yes Do you support requiring states to implement education reforms in order to be eligible for competitive federal grants?
Yes they must show evidence they teach the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and Civic Responsibility. Then they would get grants in the percentages they contributed. These grants would be half of the savings from the elimination of the department of education. The other half would go to pay on the debt.
Yes Do you support building the Keystone XL pipeline?
Yes Do you support reducing restrictions on offshore energy production?
Cheap energy makes the economy grow.
No Do you believe that human activity is contributing to climate change?
No Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
The world has always changed.
No Do you support restrictions on the purchase and possession of guns?
Our founding fathers feared an oppressive government. The 2nd amendment is very clear, and I would fight against any attempt to restrict our 2nd amendment rights.
Yes Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act?
Perhaps no single piece of legislation is more destructive to the idea of limited government than this act. It must be repealed, or we will continue to move towards a European type of central government.
Yes Do you support requiring illegal immigrants to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
No immigrant who begins their journey to America by breaking the law should be given any advantage over those who come here the correct way.
No Do you support same-sex marriage?
I really do not care what people do with their lives, but I am against any Federal legislation on this matter, and would very much prefer that the concept of marriage be returned to the churches to do with as they see fit. As far as the legal aspects of the matter, governments could give same sex couples legal rights, but we should all understand this concept could be a can of worms, in that "consenting adults" could at some point be construed to mean more than this issue currently implies.
Yes Do you support targeting suspected terrorists outside of official theaters of conflict?
Yes Should the U.S use military force in order to prevent governments hostile to the United States from possessing a nuclear weapon?
Both of these questions are not well suited for yes or no questions. A lot more detail would need to be provided for me to agree. The will to hurt us or others must be considered. If they have vowed to destroy us, and have the ability to harm us, or are developing nuclear weapons, then I do not care where they hide. Those who actively seek to harm Americans, should find no safe hiding places.
Yes Do you support allowing individuals to divert a portion of their Social Security taxes into personal retirement accounts?
Do you honestly think I would be in favor of allowing this government to steal more money from Social Security. This government cannot be trusted, and the more of our money we can keep out of their hands the better.

Education: Eliminate the Department of Education. Half the savings goes to the debt, and the other half goes to the states in the proportion they contributed so long as they teach the constitution, the bill of rights, and civic responsibility. Homeland Security: Duplicates efforts by other agencies, and does nothing to coordinate as advertised. Wasted money Everything else: We're broke reduce spending
Reducing taxes across the board will spur growth. Support these cuts with reductions in spending, and add a small tax to investment income for those over $200K. The growth will add revenue, and we can begin to climb out of this mountain of debt.
My priorities would be shrink the size and scope of government. I would call out the corruption, partisan agendas, and irresponsible government. I would fight every day to re-establish the independent spirit of Americans that made this country great, and roll back the tide of socialism that saturates this out of control federal government.
