Father's Occupation:

My father, Ray Young was a Veteran. For many years, he was an American Legion Post Commander. My mother was a RN at a VA hospital. When my father had a stroke, we couldn't get him into the VA hospital as there wasn't any room. He was in the hospital for six months before there was a bed open in the VA hospital. By that time my parents savings were almost gone. He was in the VA hospital three weeks before he died.

Due to that experience, I have a deep commitment to our Veterans. One of my central reasons for running for Congress is to work to uphold the promises made to our Vetereans for their service. I will work to ensure Veterans receive what is due them. What my parents experienced should not happpen in America!
