Awards:
Hon. Ron Paul asked for me to accept the LP 2016 Convention's Hall of Liberty Award on his behalf. I was later honored to personally deliver the trophy to Dr. Paul at his home. Regardless of whether you, the voter, like Ron's policies ... one cannot deny that he is a wonderful person. God bless Ron Paul.
Favorite President and Why:
Tossup between George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. They had the testicular fortitude to confront a King, and the fortitude to survive the confrontation.
Personal Hero and Why:
Benjamin Franklin: this founding father signed the Declaration and the Constitution. He was a serious scientist, and assigned the polarity as "+" & "-" on batteries. He did not own slaves when the social norm at the time considered that abomination to be tolerable. Except for his diplomacy in France, American citizens would be pledging allegiance to Her Majesty, the Queen of England.
Reason for Seeking Public Office:
The American experience is based upon the concept that regular citizens should hold sole ownership over their own lives, and that government should not manage us as though we're the property of the state. My goal as an elected official is to carry on the American tradition - protecting the rights of individuals - every person, all the time.
