Reason for Seeking Public Office:
"I'm running for Congress because Washington is dominated by politicians who put corporate special interests and their own political careers ahead of the needs of people who work for a living, like the family and friends I grew up with right here in Racine.
Instead of getting ahead, families are struggling, whole school districts are failing to meet the needs of our kids, and access to quality, affordable health care and reasonably priced prescription drugs are out of reach for too many.
I'm going to bring the same tenacity to Congress that I brought to protecting the United States throughout my decade of service to our country. I'll work harder than anyone to build a real grassroots campaign across this district that can win, and I'm not going to take a dime from corporate PACs and special interests. This campaign is about people right here in Wisconsin--not them."
