Reason for Seeking Public Office:
I will be a voice in returning the debate and the decision-making process for declaring War, from the Executive Branch to the Legislative Branch. Article I section 8 clause 11 of the Constitutions says that Congress shall have the power to Declare War. The last declared War was against Bulgaria in 1942. There have been no Congressional Declarations for the much more important wars waged since. I will assess our military involvement and pull our troops out of countries where no war has been declared. I will propose a War profits tax on those merchants providing the tools of War.
I will be a voice in returning to Congress its power to regulate commerce with foreign nations. (Article I section 8 clause 3). The sooner Congress stops this trade war, the sooner the damage to our farmers ceases.
