Favorite President and Why:
Jimmy Carter for several reasons.
1. Carter was a devout Christian and showed it through his actions, without trying to bully me into adopting his beliefs. He was and remains a role model, and he put the countries good above his own political fortune.
2. Carter offered one side of a clear choice about energy. His view was we should move toward energy independence through conservation and sustainable energy rather than seeking resources in countries who, aside from selling us what we need, have little in common with our way of governing and our values. Unfortunately the American people chose the other path which has led us to 9/11, and the continuous wars since.
3. If my memory serves me correctly, Carter's is the only administration, in my lifetime who did not fire a shot in hostility in 4 years.
