I enjoy horseback riding, I'm a recreational runner who's completed 2 marathons to fight cancer, and in my "spare" time I like to read and spend time with my family on our boat.

Reason for Seeking Public Office:

I did not always dream of being "a politician." I became interested in policy work surrounding women and other groups facing inequalities in society after entering the legal field.

When I became a working mother, my family faced new challenges relating to work-life balance, child care costs, and health care expenses, and I wanted to bring change to families like mine. I did a lot of soul searching about where I could make the greatest impact to better the lives of families, young and old. I decided that I could best serve my community in the legislature.

Some people have suggested that I have an uphill battle ahead of me in this campaign. That's true for any political newcomer seeking to shake up the status quo. Nothing worth having comes easily, and I love a challenge.

I've persevered through life-altering events and I've learned that the only thing that can hold you back is self-doubt. I have no doubt in my abilities to work hard for my community and help improve their lives.

I've also met many people who are so excited about this campaign - and I couldn't appreciate their support more. It gives me the energy I need to fight for you!
