Mother's Occupation:

My mom was a stay at home mom until my youngest sister went to school. Then she worked a full time job while being on the school board, the board of our local Girl Scout council, I don't even know what else.

Priority Issues:

Strengthen our local economy by promoting and supporting small and mid-sized businesses and business owners. We should encourage more entrepreneurs to take that leap and start something in our area. These new, small and mid-sized companies are the ones who provide jobs in rural areas, not multi-national companies that take our tax breaks and leave.
Revive and improve our rural school districts to give our children the best education possible allowing them to have a better future. Whether its a high school sports event, a Christmas concert or daily pick-up lines, our schools are the heart of our communities.
Reinvigorate our democracy! We need real people to get involved, to vote and to run for offices on all levels. If you're not at the table you're on the menu!

Reason for Seeking Public Office:

This brings me to why I'm running for State Assembly. I'm very concerned by what is happening in our state. I don't really care what team color you wear. At some point we need to take off our jerseys, sit down, and really talk to each other. I am running on the Democratic ticket but I plan to run as nonpartisan a campaign as I can for a partisan position. After all, are any of us really 100% one or the other? Aren't we a mix, a mutt, rather than a political purebred? Politics in this state have gotten so out of control. When I'm elected I will be representing all of the people in the 32nd District, not just those who voted for me. Shouldn't their voices count? Shouldn't everyone have a chance to speak their minds and share their concerns?
