Reason for Seeking Public Office:

Raising my family in suburban South Tulsa might seem to be in stark contrast to the work I do in Kendall Whittier. Many of our neighbors in House District 67 face similar circumstances of being just one or two emergencies away from meeting their own basic needs. There are challenges in HD 67 that need to addressed to order to improve quality of life for all us living and working here.

I am running for House District 67 because:

As the home of two of the top-rated public school districts in the Tulsa Metro area, Jenks and Union, families relocate here from across Green Country to access top-quality education for their children. We need to be sure we have policies and funding to continue providing high-quality public PreK through 12th-grade schooling to all students. This includes:

Empowering teachers in the classroom to use their expertise and training to best meet student needs

Reducing the ratio of students per teacher in classrooms

Recruiting and retaining educators who are not only supported but also fairly compensated

Currently, teachers employed in full-time positions by Union or Jenks Public School districts also work second and third jobs just to be able to make ends meet.

The higher ed and career training opportunities offered via Tulsa Community College's Southeast Campus prepare students for good paying jobs in our community. We must make sure that students have access to public college and vocaltional training programs.

Entrepreneurs in the district are concerned with providing health care and benefits to employees while still being able to expand their businesses.

As rural hospitals across the state close due to bankruptcy, more and more demand will be passed onto the facuilities in our district

We desire economic and housing development but it also brings real concerns about:

additional traffic and noise

inadequate public transportation options

unsafe streets and road

lack of walkable and bikeable paths

increased criminal activity
