Favorite President and Why:

Abraham Lincoln. He was the great emancipator. I believe that very few Presidents or politicians in general will ever face the challenges that Lincoln did. Under great stress he persevered the Union and kept our country from fracturing. He freed the slaves and protected the foundation of our country. Because of Lincoln's presidency, we remain a united country and the strongest country in the history of the world.

He was a great orator and his words still resonate in America today. His also created my home state of West Virginia during the Civil War.

Personal Hero and Why:

Pat Tillman

Pat was a star college football player who was drafted to the Arizona Cardinals. After 9/11 he gave up a multi-million dollar contract to leave the NFL and join the US Army.

Pat became an Army Ranger, and served in both Iraq and Afghanistan where he was tragically killed in a friendly-fire incident.

After reading about Pat, I can confidently say that we share a lot of the same values. Pat cared deeply about his country. He placed America before a multi-million dollar NFL contract and gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Pat is a hero.
