Reason for Seeking Public Office:

"I have spent my entire professional life helping people balance their budgets and plan for retirement. Illinois has failed miserably in achieving any of these goals for itself, while the Democratic Party has offered more of the same "tax and spend" policies. Illinois citizens already face the highest property and sales tax rates as well as the third highest corporate income tax rates in the nation. Many career politicians have run unopposed over the last two or three election cycles, and it is time for them to be held responsible for their policies that have led to the financial disaster now facing our state.

We can no longer afford politicians who recognize the state's financial problems yet continue to preach that more tax and spend policies will solve the problems. NO combination of tax increases would solve Illinois' state and local fiscal crisis without also including drastic reforms, including cuts in pension benefits and growth in the tax base. At this point, it doesn't matter who's to blame or what party you are in. Unless we make the serious changes we need, tax rates would have to be so unrealistically high to meet our obligations, that Illinois would become a ghost state in a few years.

I believe that we, regardless of party, can do that which I have helped my clients do for themselves: become financially stable. I invite you to read on to see some of the solutions that I am proposing to make this a reality, and to solve Illinois's financial crisis for all of us.
