Reason for Seeking Public Office:

I am not running for Congress to be a professional politician, and have no interest in making this my career. I am a student of our Constitution and the founding of our great nation. I am truly a citizen candidate who is entirely frustrated with politicians whose rhetoric doesn't match their record of action. I began exploring the requirements for getting on the Republican primary ballot last year after discovering how terrible Rodney Davis' Congressional voting record was. But frankly, I had decided not to run for a long list of reasons. I had no political connections or infrastructure, my business requires a significant amount of attention, I hate being away from my family, I'm not particularly socially inclined, and I certainly don't like bringing attention to myself. So why would I subject myself to this, given my nature and circumstances? The answer is simple; God put this on my heart. God has made it very clear to me that this is His plan. God has not promised me any results, nor has He revealed what the purpose is for this. After much thought and prayer, I realize that He called me because of my nature and not to entirely defy my nature.

Also, I want to be very clear on this, I am not insinuating anything about my primary opponent. My wife and I make it a point to pray for Rodney Davis' success and that God's will for him be fulfilled as well.
