Jay Kinzler is a dedicated doctor and surgeon, Army Reserve Lieutenant Colonel, local government official, volunteer and family man. He and his wife Jennifer have lived in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, for 22 years along with daughter Allie and son Andrew.
Jay is hard working, dedicated to his community and passionate for the United States. He has proven himself to be a strong leader in local government, during his military career, his private medical practice, and as a member of many professional associations.
His drive for success and his results-oriented leadership skills make him a true man of action. Whether it?s in the operating room or representing the people of Illinois, Kinzler is a man you can count on.
Kinzler completed his undergraduate degree at Loyola University of Chicago, graduating in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. He continued on at Loyola University, Stritch School of Medicine, graduating in 1984. Jay completed his internship and residency at Loyola University Medical Center, specializing in urology. After completing his 6-year residency program, he subspecialized in renal transplantation, completing an additional year of a kidney transplant fellowship at St. Vincent?s Medical Center, University of Southern California.
Jay is a patriot and always wanted to serve in the military. He finally got his chance when he was sworn into the United States Army Reserve in November 2007. Jay now serves as a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army Reserve and is assigned to Fort Benning where he has performed his annual training and worked the last several years.
Jay continues involvement in many community activities through St. Petronille Church, Park District and the Home Owners Association of Danby Woods. He has enjoyed coaching his children?s sports teams as they grew up. At the Glen Ellyn Park District Jay has coached soccer, basketball, football and baseball programs. He was most active in the Glen Ellyn Youth Baseball Association (GEYBA) and has served in several leadership positions there.
Jay is a member of the Doctors Company Illinois Advisory Board. He is an Elmhurst Outpatient Surgery Center Board of Director and currently serves on the Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare Medical Executive Committee. He was just elected Medical Staff President of Elmhurst Memorial Hospital on September 15, 2015. He is also on the Medical Staff Quality Oversight Committee of Elmhurst Memorial Hospital And the Physician Advisory Council (formally Physician Strategic Planning Council.)
