Favorite Actor/Actress:
Katherine Hepburn.
Favorite Author:
James Patterson, Kathy Reichs, JD Robb, Elizabeth Moon, Janet Evanovich, and many more.
Favorite President and Why:
John F Kennedy was my favorite because he inspired America to be it's best. He brought people together to reach positive goals such as the space program.
Hobbies or Special Talents:
I loved doing all elements of theater. I got involved in the technical aspects, sound and lighting, and discovered the thrill of acting, the satisfaction of designing and building sets and finally the joy of directing. Gardening is my passion. I also enjoy Traveling, Camping, Hiking, Bicycling, Fishing, Photography, Woodworking, Canoeing, Sewing, and all things Theater
Name one thing you would most like to do before you die:
Kayak from Yellowstone to the Gulf in one continuous trip.
Number of Grandchildren:
Six
Reason for Seeking Public Office:
Last year I retired from my management job at Walmart. It would be so easy for me to sit back and enjoy my retirement if some things didn?t bother me so much.
Overpaying for Health Insurance:
It bothers me that we all have to pay more in health insurance premiums because Wyoming did not adopt the Medicaid expansion or establish an insurance exchange. We pay for that program but get no benefits because our governor and legislature will not approve it purely for political reasons.
Pay Equity:
It bothers me that women in our community are paid less than men for the same work. It bothers me that some minorities are paid even less. In fact, Wyoming ranks last in equality of pay. That is not living up to our state motto, ?the Equality State.?
Jobs:
It bothered me when I interviewed someone for a job that they were so desperate they would break down and cry during the interview. It bothered me to see people temporarily living out of their cars, vans or campers because they cannot afford housing at the moment. For many people, the solution to the jobs problem meant to move out of state. It shouldn?t be that way. We need to create an atmosphere and infrastructure that invites businesses and families to Evanston and the surrounding area.
Marriage Equality:
It bothers me when friends of mine are not allowed to enjoy the benefits of marriage because of the current religious beliefs of some. I hear some say it is wrong to redefine marriage yet that is exactly what they have done. It bothers me that our First Amendment is so ignored.
Food Insecurity/Child Hunger:
It bothers me that children in our neighborhood do not have enough to eat because their parents, though working several jobs, have barely enough or not enough to pay for food, clothing, shelter and medicine. It shouldn?t be that way. It bothers me.
I am sick of being bothered!
