Reason for Seeking Public Office:

Why Am I Running for Lt. Governor?
Thank you for visiting my website. I'm excited to announce that I am running for Lt. Governor! South Carolina is where I have built my business, raised my family, and lived my entire adult life -- and now I want to serve our state and its great people.

I have never aspired to a career in politics, but I believe I can bring a common-sense business perspective to state government. I will work every day to support our small business community, push to reform state government and be a strong advocate for our state's seniors.

My father, a WWII veteran, recently passed away after a long battle with dementia. My father's need for extra care was similar to what many other South Carolinians, and their families, face. On a deeply personal level, I understand firsthand the needs of South Carolina's seniors. This generation served our country in so many ways and we must do all we can to assist them now. The Office on Aging is the responsibility of the Lt. Governor, and I will do all I can to ensure our seniors have a strong voice in their state government.

I want to use the business skills learned throughout my 40 years in the private sector to promote the resources our state offers and encourage the entrepreneurial spirit of South Carolinians. By eliminating needless, burdensome government regulations, state government can make it easier for small business owners to invest and re-invest in their businesses and in turn, our state.

Being a fiscal conservative, I strongly believe that our state's leaders should only use taxpayer dollars for critical needs. That's why my first act as Lt. Governor will be to eliminate the office's security detail -- saving taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars each year. I will always be looking for ways to run a smarter, more efficient Lt. Governor's office and that begins with setting the right example and eliminating unnecessary wasteful expenses.

As my wife Pam and I embark on this exciting journey, I promise to work with focus and determination to find solutions to the problems that affect the people of this state.

I ask for your prayers and I would be honored to have your support.

Best regards,
