Reason for Seeking Public Office:
The current Dysfunctional Congress needs to be working for the people and less for the special interest. Congress has many issues they must deal with, but briefly let me focus on the budget.
Congress has kept the deficits smaller by spending the surpluses (replacing with bonds) from various trust funds, the largest being Social Security. Social Security has no more surpluses and those funds must now be refunded increasing the public national deficit.
The debt is destined to grow to $25T in less than a decade and currently there is nothing to stop that from happening or from continuing beyond that. The interest on the debt will increase to over half the size of the discretionary budget, larger than the defense budget.
These burdens are now on the next generation I am an independent.
I received my PhD from UCSB.
I am employed locally because of my ability to recognize and solve problems and well as mentor newer engineers to do the same.
I will use these same problem solving abilities in Congress next year.
And that is why I am running for Congress!
