Number of Grandchildren:
7
Personal Hero and Why:
My father, Charles Arthur Ferriter. Hero in World War Two, educator and writer. A role model for all in terms of service to nation, community, and to his faith.
Priority Issues:
In District 42, we are facing challenges involving our rural roads - state, county, village and town. These roads will in some cases soon be non-repairable. Our rural schools are challenged by reductions in state aids, and we must find solutions. We must preserve local control for our villages and towns wherever and whenever issues of public health and saftety emerge. Our environment - both air and especially water quality is in jeopardy, Over-arching alll of this is the Wisconsin Economy, within District 42, and statewide. Tax uts alone are not an economic plan - we deserve better.
Publications:
"Of Hill Folks and Engine Builders", c2011, author, George Ferriter
Reason for Seeking Public Office:
I come from a family where service was an expecation. In 2011, I realized that my strengths and abilities could help our state, so I ran for Village President, and won. To help restore Wisconsin's place as a state where public policy is shapen by ctizens and elected officials for the public good, I am now running for state assembly.
Spouse's Occupation:
Board Member, Rio Area School District
