Priority Issues:

Taxes:

No new taxes, Illinois is over-taxed where we are the 2nd highest taxed state in the nation. The assurance of a continued flat tax rate of 3.75 will encourage business growth and new entrepreneurs.

Term Limits:

I support term limits for elected officials to no more than 4 terms. This will help increase effectiveness of service, accountability, and transparency while helping to reduce "nepotism" and criminal mismanagement of resources.

Crime:

Our business districts and Metra Train Stations are becoming vulnerable due to police redeployments.

I will work and advocate to bring foot patrols to the 35th district. I will be an advocate for civilian officers to work in police administrative positions.

Pensions:

I support totally funded pensions, our pensions are only 40% funded and it will hurt a little but pension reform must include cost of living adjustments from 3% to a rate closer to the rate of inflation, (2015 -- 0.7%). Workers will have to contribute more to their pensions. We should consider raising the retirement age.

We need to change system from defined benefit to defined contribution.

All new hires pensions will be under a 401 (k) plan

Minimum wage:

I support a minimum wage increase that corresponds to the rate of inflation (2015 -- 0.7%) 1-2% increase

Other issues:

I will advocate for skills, trades, and manufacturing training in our high schools.

I will advocate for elimination of the multiple tax breaks and corporate loopholes which cost the State of Illinois more than $1 billion per year.

I will advocate for prison reform such as mandatory GED and skill training for inmates.
