Priority Issues:
My priority issues include: Medicaid expansion, limiting predatory lending, improving highway and travel options, ending discrimination of women and minorities, support for women's reproductive health choices, ethics for legislators and their use of funds, support for public schools, educators, and public safety personnel -- fire and police -- and their families, raising minimum wate, support for union organizing, support for mental health resources, reducing gun violence, pre-kindergarten for all children, ending mass incarceration, reducing costs of public colleges and universities, promoting alternative use of non-fossil fuel and other care for our environment, and protecting marriage equality.
Reason for Seeking Public Office:
I am running for office to serve the needs of the residents and hard working families of my district. My 13-year incumbent has been cutting funds for education, raising the cost of attending public colleges and universities, blocking all transportation improvements, taking funds from predatory lenders, voting to outlaw most common forms of birth control and family planning resources, supporting discrimination against minorities and the LGBT community, and pomoting fear of immigrants and minorties in our communities. I am running to offer myself as an alternative representative of and advocate for our community. I will build trust people can have for their legislator and to pomote appreciation and understanding among our diverse communities.
Spouse's Occupation:
Educator
