Favorite President and Why:

George Washington is my favorite President. He took no salary either as Commander of the army, all through the revolution, nor as President. After the war was won, our nation was in chaos. The money system was utterly collapsed; the phrase "not worth a Continental" was literally true. A group of officers wrote a letter pleading with George to declare himself King George I. With the nation in chaos the people would have accepted him readily. He had it within his grasp to become a king. But he was such a man of integrity he was aghast, and rebuked the officers.

I would like to secure the future for my grandchildren.

Person Most Want to Meet (Dead or Alive):

The one person I would most like to meet would have to be Thomas Jefferson. Of all the Founders, he stands out as the most intelligent and learned.

Personal Hero and Why:

Nathan Hale, for showing true courage and the American spirit: "I only regret, that I have but one life to lose for my country."

Priority Issues:

My number one priority issue is to begin using the Constitution to reduce our general government back down to the 20 enumerated powers they were originally given.

Reason for Seeking Public Office:

I am deeply concerned about the nation my grandchildren will inherit from me. Like most Americans, I watched the decline of my nation from the sidelines for many years. I voted, I sometimes made calls and wrote letters to elected representatives, but I was not actively involved on a consistent basis. Now I have come to understand, government is not going to fix itself. Everyone currently in government, either as an employee or elected official, has a vested interest in maintaining the status quo. Both major political parties have a vested interest in maintaining the status quo. Restoring our Republic, our liberties, and a Constitutionally limited general government can only happen if we the People will stand up and become citizen patriots.
