Reason for Seeking Public Office:
I'll be an independent voice for Iowans in Congress. Too many of our politicians go along with their party leaders and donors, regardless of what's best for the people back home. Our own Congressman Dave Loebsack votes with the Democrats more than 90 percent of the time. Iowa deserves a leader in Congress who will think for himself and keep constituents' best interests in mind.
Dave Loebsack has been in Congress for a decade now and I think that's long enough. Unfortunately, politicians like Loebsack are the norm in Washington today -- they're too cozy with big government insiders and they lose touch with constituents. Americans overwhelmingly support placing term limits on federal offices and I'll fight to make that happen. Nobody needs to spend more than a decade in Congress and I pledge not to.
