Reason for Seeking Public Office:

The Cure


A man and his wife read the paper one day,
They read about A.I.D.s and how it was going to stay.

They thought of all the illness that affected the Earth,
The killing diseases from the aged to birth.

It wasn't until their niece had died of a cancer,
They got angry and wanted an answer.

They looked to the Heavens and shouted God's name,
"Why do you put us through so much disparity and pain?"

You sit up there in the Heavens above,
It say's in the Good Book -You're about Kindness and Love.

Why in the world would you let our niece die?
You are so selfish, and we want to know why?

You sit on your throne, so happy and pleased,
Why haven't you sent someone to cure this disease?

When both were silent, God sat them both down,
I know how you feel; you have a reason to frown.

Remember when, four decades ago,
You became pregnant, this miracle I know.

It was your first, you can't afford it, you said
You both made the decision and went right to bed.

You see, I did send someone to cure this disease,
It was your first son, the doctor to be.

The one you aborted, so life would be easy
The decision you made, did not please Me.

I will continue sending children, this is for sure,
It will be up to you to keep alive the cure.
